BentBox uses a single referral code to power two complementary earning programmes. As a Promoter, you share Box listings — sellers who opt in contribute 5% of their net sale price as your commission for every purchase you drive, keeping BentBox's platform fee untouched and competitive. As an Affiliate, you refer new sellers to BentBox and earn 5% of the BentBox platform fee on their sales for 12 months. One code, two income streams, zero cost to buyers.

The Promoter Programme

A performance-based marketing tool for sellers — and an earning opportunity for anyone with an audience.

When a seller enables promotion via their Settings page, their Boxes become available to Promoters. Any BentBox user can then share those Box links or embed Box widgets — and earn 5% of the seller's net sale price for every purchase they drive.

Because BentBox's commission is always added on top of the seller's listed price, the platform margin stays clean and low regardless of promotion activity. The 5% is the seller's own performance-based marketing contribution — a small, fair token for sales they would not otherwise have made.

For Sellers: Opt In via Settings

Go to bentbox.co/settings to enable your Boxes for promotion. When promotion is active, Promoters are incentivised to actively market your content to audiences you may never reach on your own — at a fraction of the cost of paid advertising.

Commission Only Applies on Enabled Boxes

If a seller has not opted in, sharing their Box link with your referral code will not generate a Promoter commission. A note about this is shown in the Box sharing modal so Promoters always know before they share.

How to earn as a Promoter

Get your referral code

Find your unique code on your Referrals dashboard. It auto-attaches to every link you share via the BentBox Share button.

Find promotion-enabled Boxes

Look for Boxes from sellers who have enabled promotion. Your referral code only earns a commission on these Boxes.

Share links or embed the widget

Post your referral link on social media, in newsletters, or embed the BentBox widget directly on your website.

Earn 5% per sale

Every purchase made through your link or widget on a promotion-enabled Box earns you 5% of the seller's net payout.

Collect via Payouts

Promoter earnings are tracked and paid through your Payouts page — separate from your Affiliate dashboard.

Invite photographers, models, videographers, and other creators to join BentBox as sellers using your referral link. Once they make their first sale, you earn 5% of the BentBox platform fee on every sale they make for the next 12 months. This comes entirely from the platform's margin — the seller keeps 100% of their listed price.

Affiliate earnings are tracked separately from your Promoter payouts and can be viewed on your Affiliate Dashboard.

A Promoter earns by driving sales of existing Boxes — they share links or embed widgets, and earn 5% of the seller's net sale price per transaction. An Affiliate earns by recruiting new sellers to the platform — they earn 5% of the BentBox fee on a referred seller's sales for 12 months. Both programmes use the same referral code, and you can participate in both simultaneously.

No — the listed price the buyer sees is unchanged. The 5% comes from the seller's net payout: the price they set, before BentBox adds its commission on top. Think of it as a performance-based marketing cost. A seller who enables promotion is saying: "I'm happy to share 5% of a sale I wouldn't have made otherwise." BentBox's platform commission is always charged on top of the seller's price and is never affected.

Yes. The BentBox widget accepts a data-referral-code attribute. Any purchase made through an embedded widget carrying your code, for a promotion-enabled Box, earns you the standard 5% Promoter commission — exactly the same as a direct link click.

The Promoter commission (5% of the seller's net price) comes from the seller's payout, not from BentBox's margin. The Affiliate commission (5% of the BentBox fee) is the platform's own cost of acquiring new sellers — an investment in growth. Because the Promoter programme is funded by sellers who choose to participate, BentBox doesn't need to inflate its platform fee to cover marketing costs, keeping prices competitive for buyers.
