HOW TO BECOME AN OFFICIAL BARD
Berks Bards has started a membership program! It works like NPR: There’s no obligation to join. You can continue to enjoy our free open mics, monthly guest readers, workshops and other events. This will never change!
But for a membership donation of $10 a year (you can give more if you like!), you receive these extra benefits:
- You have a say in decision-making. Your suggestions are always welcome, but with a membership you can have a vote in electing officers, approving by-law changes, and other important issues.
- You can publish a poem on this website! And at the end of the year, we will collect them into a small chapbook. You will get a free copy, and your friends and family can purchase copies for a small donation.
- You are invited to sign our official membership book during any First Thursday event. You will be given a full page (front and back) to tell us how you could volunteer, and what hidden skills you could bring to our group. Can you take fabulous photos? Are you a social media expert? Do you enjoy hosting open mics or providing goodies for special events? Tell us, and we’ll be thrilled to include you!
- You can serve on our board or become an officer when you are ready.
It’s simple, it’s inexpensive and it’s a way to show your commitment to our poetic community!
