I gotta know who's the car guy/s is on the team for Northern Lights‽¿¡! They seem to go so far as to make Aldric's trucks exhaust note be correct for the engine it's equipped with, I know what a Ford 300ci inline-six cylinder engine sounds like, and they made his sound properly. Even about what it's like to ride in a regular cab truck with a bench seat and a manual transmission. Also the comment from Dev about the quality of Aldric's welding. The one comment that really shows there's a team member who's a quite mechanically inclined individual is, his theory of what Split Peak is for. A witness mark? No one without knowledge in vehicles would know what a witness mark is and what it's used for 😉 😜 👌.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who just goes off writing a review for an FVN they like/love. I've written a few that are longer than this one here. Especially ones I wrote for; Soulcreek, Home Somewhere Else, What it Feels Like, Rain Check, Remember the Flowers
My top of the list ones are, not in order are;
Devil's Gambit
Far Beyond the World
Northern Lights(no fuckin shit duhhhh, 😆)
Roads Yet Traveled
Arches
My current #1 is..............
Lyre!
How can you not help falling for an MC who loves Wolfmen, who's also quite attractive himself, and, like myself, he prefers to grow his hair properly long, and also like me, wear it down most of the time. Mine is around 3x the length of Richter's which is only an inch or two above my waist currently.
Then you have Captain Lyall Reed. Who's by far the most attractive Wolfman with regards to his body/stature, demeanor, and his loving nature. As well as his shyness, awkwardness, etc around someone he finds attractive, aka Richter. Lastly he, like Richter & myself, knows he has great hair/mane and knows the best thing for it/him/ & us, is to grow as much of it as he possibly can. If you got it, there's no shame in wanting to have as much of it as possible. Which is why he has the most well kempt, long, soft, and smelling neck floof, chest floof, shoulder floof, head and back neck floof of any FVN wolf character ever drawn. He also envies and prefers Richter's mane to be proper long and he seemed upset when Richter told him he wanted Lyall to cut it back quite a lot.
And i can't wait for the next update! I'm interested in Vinny's backstory, as I have a feeling there's a story behind him currently being single, and his caring & compassionate demeanor. As well as Devon's story, and what the deal with his padlock necklace. It's clearly a source of calming or assurance for him, as he rubs and plays with it when he gets nervous.
Yeah, the part that kicked my feels square in my nut was when he received all the letters Aldric had sent because someone saved them for him. Especially the last one, I just lost my shit, and had to read it a few times so I could take in what was written without having to stop to clean up all the shit leaking on my face from all my sobbing😭😢😢😥😰😓😭
Hypothesis B gets you into the grandfather paradox, and it's more lazy writing. Why would they need Tucker to go back in time to build the machine in the first place? Not to mention, it doesn't explain how he's in a totally different solar system. It being used to create a singularity, a singularity that can be manipulated. Manipulated incorrectly in this case, resulting in their sudden house guest appearing out of nowhere. One wrench 🔧 I have with my theory is. During his discussion with Tyr, Tyr said something like, "that's not possible, he would've had to make." Almost like he's seen the Mæron do something similar before, and he knows the cause and what the future holds for Tucker and him continuing being not dead 🤔 ☠️⚰️💀. Also it doesn't explain his ability to understand them, but they don't understand him. My theory is Tucker, somehow combined with a crew member that died due to 'the hum.' Maybe only parts of his mind were merged into Tucker's which would explain his speech ability and why he can't speak their language to them.
Definitely still talking about RYT. I'm just using it as an example writers use to explain the inexplicable, like how the human got wherever, can understand alien 👽 beings perfectly, how their space travel works, etc. RYT are using known science, even if only a little, it helps making it more believable and easier to understand. Unlike Adastra, which explained away those aforementioned issues using 'Parents, stretch drive, and the Mcguffin, er, Lingua' and that last option opens a massive can of worms 🪱 😉 🤔. If the device can manipulate the motor functions, speech, vocalisations, including the ability to perceive any sentient beings language and translate it in real time. What else can it do we or even the beings they're installed into? It's not a stretch to think it could manipulate ones emotions, desires, visual perceptions. Basically it can modify whatever is needed so the host perception of reality, to whatever those controlling it want, ala The Matrix. Once they implant it, it's impossible for the host to know what they're experiencing is really their reality, not one meant to have you ignorant of your ACTUAL REALITY. Kinda like simulation theory. How would someone inside the simulation, know they're in a simulation if it's sufficiently accurate/believable to all possible senses? That's why I prefer what RYT did. They tried to make as much as they could be grounded in known theories, even if only slightly. Takes more effort than just saying 'it's magic," 😆.
Science fiction often starts with science facts. It can also inspire products created from one of those science fiction ideas, ala mobile phones. To me, it seems they put a decent amount of thought into the science side of this story. Rather than what most do and say, 'it just happened and works, don't question it and consume next product.' Things like the repulsive gravity of the wells in the columns, is theoretically possible. Using black holes ⚫️ as a power source may seem like lunacy, but the math says it could be possible. Whether humans could ever have the capacity to make the math work for them is another story 🙄. We only just recently proved that black holes aren't just theory. We knew the math worked, we just didn't have a way to prove it beyond said math. Until we learned, not to look for the hole itself. They emit no visible light, at least using the methods we currently have. So, how do you find something that's fundamentally invisible 🫥 to you? You look for it's influence on the objects around where you theorize the hole to be, like stars 🌟. When you find stars that seem to be orbiting, nothing, and doing so at speeds, distances, with orbit radii so tight that at the speeds they they're traveling, the math says these stars should be projectiles. Flung out into the cosmos at incomprehensible speeds, but they don't. Something is massive enough for it's gravitational pull to overpower the centripetal force on the star or planetary body orbiting it. We now know all this was correct and can 'see' our supermassive black hole ⚫️ at our galactic center. Whatever supercomputer, hyperintelligent Ai, or my fave excuse. Adastra Lingua style brain implants, that can tell our brains 🧠 to experience whatever the fuck they tell it to. Just like what it did to Marco, nothing after Amicus stabbed him through his eye socket (which is a thing btw) can be trusted. You couldn't possibly decern reality from brain manipulation, because that's exactly what our brains already do. Takes in sensory data, sprinkles some witchcraft 🧹🪄 onto the accumulated data, then it builds us a reality in our minds we can interpret, 😆. I still say, Marco's and possibly even Amicus, are having their emotions manipulated by the brain implant in order to 'fall in love.' How could you know otherwise ? They almost immediately manipulated Marco's motor functions to have him strike the big fluffy cuddly wolfs neck. Rather than having him turn the wolfs skull into a T ball, while being the first human to ever experience FTL travel.
Can you tell I'm a single millennial, with ADHD who lives in an isolated shithole‽¿ 😆
Ok, I just finished the part that changes who's perspective we're seeing/reading from to Darius.
I must give kudos 👏💐👌 to whoever created Tony's character design. An MC that's a dude, a dude who shrugged off convention even if just a bit. Doing so by finding out if he'd look good, or probably better with long hair, and whether he liked it as well. So few men are willing to even try it once, just to know. Not that I want it to become common. There's just some guys you see now and then, who you can tell would look as good or better if they tried it (you see even more if you already have long hair😉).
Anyway, it's just nice to see I'm not the only one who prefers it both on, a potential BF as well as my own as well. Preferred to the point that mine is just over halfway between my knees and ankles. Took me 15yrs, I'm just chose to allow it to choose the length it ends up at, rather than me making that choice. Though, it hasn't slowed down and I'm starting to worry about what to do if it doesn't soon 😕 🤔. I can't give up now, I have too much time invested in it. I also have waaaay too much love for it, which only increased exponentially the longer it got. Especially when it passed milestones, milestones such as when it reached my shoulders, waist, knees and the next will be ankles. But, it's also the main reason I am and have always been single so, maybe......🤔😶🌫️🫥😬
Fuck ADHD is annoying 😑 😑
So, you're suddenly in a world of anthropomorphic animals. And the first question isn't, is being gay a thing and if so, are either of you DTF‽¿¡ C'mon, it would be either that, or you'd be freaking the fuck out, not being all cordial and polite. You've just experienced something that's beyond human comprehension, and you're not a weeee bit concerned or curious of the, who, what, when, where and why's?
Starting to be convinced that, Rian, as nice and has an innocence or naivete about him that makes him endearing. Is not in actuality, using that to manipulate both Caddy and Hector for something big that most likely will not end well for one or both of them very soon. The way he belittles Caddy to keep him unsure of himself, killing any confidence he's had or has, telling him he will just do X wrong, that "he's just a stick in the mud." How he rarely uses "us" but rather "I or me" when he talks about wanting to talk to Hector again. Not helping Caddy understand that, Hector had fallen in love with BOTH of you, not just Rian. He couldn't have not, as he didn't know you were two beings at that time. He did notice the subtle differences, yes, but it didn't seem to bother him. He knew it wasn't Rian when you'd read together and such. He did see Rian in your eyes, that spark, that fire you'd get in your eyes. He knew something was up, just not what at the time. Or during your walk in the woods to the ruins, when he called you Badger 🦡🦡, a name only used by Rian. Perhaps he didn't want or maybe he just couldn't see that clue and at least ponder the idea of something being a miss‽¿ The night of the festival, how could those feelings be only for Rian if he didn't know of his existence? He doesn't know of an "old Cadgan," so how could be clinging to anyone else besides just Cadgan, if he doesn't know of an old one? He still sees you as you, no one else is even remotely possible in that moment. YOU'RE the one who assumed where he's feelings were directed, you assumed he couldn't or doesn't love "this Cadgan." Even with how much you think you've changed, he still said he loves YOU. YOU not what you were, but who you are now and I think Rian is to blame for you feeling like this.
Perhaps the previous beings, whoever made The Mæron, moved your species and possibly worlds 🌎, into the void to save you and left the Eye/Heart as a reminder. Voids will be where the last stars are born and die in our universe, so may be the last places life will be able to exist? Maybe it was to protect your species from the horrors of the cosmos. Because Voids have little matter in them by definition, they don't have asteroids, comets, rouge planets, supernovas, black holes 🕳, etc. All things that can wipe a species out in an instant. Maybe The Mæron was the device that made this move possible, and they stumbled on this with the arrival of Tucker but haven't realized it yet‽¿¡?!
Just had a random thought. Why didn't Fred know what a Medivac was? Yet, why did Chad know the term? Giving me coma or some sort of dream vibes the more I read it over. Like, magic? Random crazy monsters? A telepathic Mothoc? A Chad who gets "a second chance" and he doesn't jump Fred at the first opportunity‽¿! C'mon, we all know no one would have the restraint to not immediately bang a dude that into you and that attractive🥰🤣. Or at least grab his junk a few times, for science 🙄 😐😑😍. Oh, on the sign for Marimabo and Greitel it says their town is 20km away and the next is 120km, not 2.0kms away like Chad says. 20kms would be 20min by car, but no chance on foot unless they're 2 crazy quick bipeds, 😆.
I'm also more convinced with each update that @CryptidDog is a literature major, with a minor in astrophysics, astronomy, or just general physics. The writing style is next level, they way he's able to describe scenes. It's so eloquent, not at all what I or probably anyone who's reading it expected from an FVN. That's not a bad thing either, it's refreshing to not have every second scene be the MC getting railed, 😆😆. But when it does come up, like Paytr, it's fuckin HILARIOUS!!! I was surprised Tucker didn't come out to them at the point, but I guess it allows for more questioning by the crew and more hilarious quips by Verissun!
I wonder how they deal with the temperature differential between the sides of the station that face their star, and the side that doesn't? Curious how they are creating gravity for the station, it's something to do with the Mæron I'm sure of it. If it is a black hole, I'd be curious how they regulate it's effects.
I made that mistake already. Actually, the first ever FVN I'd ever read/found was Arches. I don't even remember how I came across itch, or the story itself. As you must know, Arches is about the worst novel any person could read as their first foray into the genre. Not to mention, it doesn't really conform to what most think the genre to be. There's no full on animal based consensual intercourse. The story is very heavily nuanced & extremely well written. It seems to have changed the landscape of FVN's forever for the better. The emotions one goes though while reading it, Rollercoaster doesn't even begin to describe what it does to the reader, and it's all the better for it, imo.
What is it with all the FVN's lately choosing full on heart wrenching, gut punching, tissue box emptying, emotionally scaring, emotionally freeing, brilliantly written, updates, chapters, endings‽¿¡! Like, is there some furry law/rule that says the stories must have an ending that absolutely wrecks the reader?! It would be nice to read one with a happy ending for once. Not that I don't absolutely adore the latest update of Glory Hounds. It's written so brilliantly, it's a shame that due to the genre, more people aren't going to see said brilliance as myself and the rest of the community are so privileged to have bore witness to.
It has to be crazy to have to basically write a story 3 times. Where all 3 versions are super similar and the only differences are based on the chosen character. Must feel repetitive, but not at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I, and I assume most here appreciate you for it and we would totally understand it if updates are late.
If it was The Eye, then what's the current eye? Wouldn't a star create heat and energy, more than gravity? I think it's a black hole or a wormhole of some sort. According to most, if not all black hole theory, going backwards isn't possible, going forward could be but there are issues there too, but they're less insurmountable. I think it's been shown that they're not in our solar system. The star is different, more to the white side I think, the surrounding systems, stars, etc are totally different, not to mention the void they're in. I'm of the idea he was transported to a different universe via an accident or an unknown ability of The Mæron, as no one seems to know where it came from or who created it. For all Tyr knows it could be a weapon and possibly the reason they're in the void as it created it.
So, what do we think‽¿? Is Tucker's mind slowly being destroyed due to it's exposure to the Mæron, like large radiation exposure does? This could be why Tyr didn't want to say much as he knows very well what the final diagnosis will be, a slow painful death as he at the same time goes more and more insane. Or is it because his mind is now in a universe/reality it doesn't belong and it's unable to cope, breaking down as a result & this is the explanationfor the static and occasional "episodes." Either way, I get the feeling Tyr knows exactly what's happening and that's why he's having Marrow preform all the tests regardless of the fact that they all come out what they know as normal. He just doesn't want to admit his mistake basically doomed another sentient being from another universe & reality to death, forever away from its species. Which, yeah, would suck to tell someone especially when you know you're not able to stop or reverse it. Would be nice to him find a way to stop and restore Tucker's mental faculties to at least save his life if he can't get him back home. Because his home no longer exists as when you cross a black hole event horizon in theory, the universe you left instantly ends. Like as if you hit a magic fast forward button which causes the time in that universe to instantly skip to its end, meaning the universe no longer exists. So going back to somewhere that's no longer there isn't exactly possible.
Yeah i get that in this evolved species can clearly see in color, which is nice that they hinted at it as others don't. They just assume we would forget that our dogs didn't evolve that ability. Only Lyre kinda comes out and says they're able to see color when they had Lyall say, "I love red, it's my favorite color." Ugh, Lyall is by far my fave wolf/canine MC, probably fave regardless of species actually. Anyway. I don't think any tail movements are truly involuntary with canines, they just don't realize they're doing it at times, but there is always a reason. Yeah for all we know he is barking, growling etc because we're hearing the translated language in Tucker's slowly scrambling mind.
Soooooooo, wtf is Hard Light exactly? Best friends brother used to DJ back in the late 90s and early 2000s. He had to use actual turntables, not "pads" and didn't have, "Hard Light," whatever the fuck that is. Also, my little brother bar 🍸 tended for over a decade so it's all triggering memory lane, 😆.
I'll be honest. I refuse to read anything after the previous update when we lost Ayeon 😭. I refuse to let go of Alex, Loken, Mylo, Takhi(sp?), and especially Byte. Byte was one of the best written characters I've seen in any fictional story, FVN or not. He's funny, innocent, lost, caring, compassionate, etc and he's not even "real!" I refuse to live in a world where the love Loken finally found and understood in Alex is gone. I refuse to read about a pain 😢 especially for someone who doesn't have the ability to properly understand how emotions work, he will have to go through having lost his father, then his lover all in a few days. I can't, and don't want to, read about him learning about the emotion known as loss and heartbreak 💔. I can't read about Mylo losing the only person he thought cared about him, especially after losing Ayeon. I can't know what he feels when he learns what happened, what he does when he learns he's lost the only person who lit that spark, that fire 🔥 is his soul. The only person who had any chance of understanding him and how he thinks, and who doesn't scold him or think he's strange because of how he thinks. Then there's Byte. I just, I loved him as a character. He was written so well, he was like a snarky teenager but without all the nastiness. SoulCreek is one story I really didn't want to end, it was just so well written. Kinda like Remember the Flowers, Home Zomewhere Else, Devil's Gambit, Far Beyond the World, Lyre, Roads yet Traveled, Northern Lights, and Rain Check. All are my favorites, especially Lyre, Northern Lights, & RyT.
Mmmmmm, close but I still would say Arches takes it. Bridges, Arches & Clockwork, are nearly impossible to top. I don't think there's a single song on the soundtrack that isn't a banger. But this is all my opinion, I've heard Soulcreek, Roads yet Traveled, Echo/Echo65, Remember the Flowers 💐, Northern Lights, etc, and Arches seems to always come out on top. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I L O V E SoulCreek!!! It's actually in the top5 of my favorite Furry Visual Novels, and with the new and final chapters, may actually be better overall than Arches. When a certain person died, I started sobbing 😭 so much so quickly it actually hurt. It's actually quite shocking how much amazing talent there is hiding in the FVN space.
Lol. With the less than stellar reputation this genre already has. It's a shame because this and quite a few other stories like SoulCreek, Remember the Flowers 💐, and if you want to mentally fuck-up a bunch of the general public, Arches and/or Adastra would be perfect for that. There are some really talented writers here and it would be great to showcase their talents to a wider audience, Devil's Gambit and Lyre spring to mind. The world building and detail those 2 have is incredible. I think a lot are a result of the China Virus of unknown origin, as people had time on their hands and were stuck inside.
So, did we lose all the comments during the temporary banning?
I miss the astrophysics discussion I was having with a user 😔. We were trying to figure out if it was a wormhole or black hole 🕳 that brought Tucker to their system? I'd think a black hole would make more since they're trying to use it to generate unlimited power, and i don't think you can do that what with how unstable a wormhole is. Also curious if they managed to create or manipulate gravity between attractive and repulsive 🤔?
