About the Challenge
The Celebrity Hunt Hackathon is a one-day build sprint where your team tries to earn one thing: a real, consented FaceTime call with a high-profile public figure. You’ll receive a curated list of 30 hard-to-reach targets across politics, music, sports, film, media, and culture. Your job is to build something real - a product, tool, or system that creates a credible path to reaching one of them, then prove it live.
This isn’t a slide contest. It’s a speed-and-execution challenge: build fast, ship something people would actually use, and show a real outcome!
Requirements
What to Build
Build a working product, tool, or system that increases your odds of reaching one target and converting that reach into a FaceTime ring. Any approach is valid - software, automation, comms engines, social funnels, network maps, growth workflows, or creative “offline + online” systems - as long as it’s real, usable, and demonstrably deployed during the event.
You’ll stand out by shipping something that is:
- Credible (it makes sense that this could reach them),
- Specific (built for a clear target + channel),
- Operational (not theoretical - actually running),
- Outcome-driven (measurable progress toward contact).
What to Submit
Your submission should include enough material for judges to verify (1) what you built and (2) what happened.
Submit:
- A 1 minute demo video (or live demo link) showing the product in action
- A short write-up explaining: the target, the channel strategy, and why your approach is credible
- Proof of progress/outcome, such as: inbound responses, intros secured, scheduled call confirmation, or live call evidence
- A link to your build (repo, deployed app, automation flow, or system documentation)
- Team + costume photo (commitment to the bit counts)

Judging Criteria
-
Outcome / Proof
Did you create a verifiable path and show real movement—responses, intros, scheduling, or a live FaceTime call? -
Real Product Quality
Is it actually usable and deployed (not a mock)? Does it function end-to-end? -
Credibility of Strategy
Does your approach make sense for that target and their ecosystem (agents, PR, friends, orgs, communities, platforms)? -
Speed + Execution
How much did you ship in one day, and how cleanly does it work? -
Creativity + Conviction
Novel angle, boldness, and how well you committed to the challenge.
