Welcome to CheeseHacks 2026. We are excited to have you join UW–Madison’s largest hackathon. Whether you are participating in your first hackathon or returning with prior experience, resources and support will be available throughout the weekend to help you succeed.

Throughout the event, several workshops and technical sessions will be offered to help you strengthen your skills:

• How to Hackathon Workshop (2:00 PM, Saturday) — Hosted by the UPL

• Google Cloud Workshop (3:00 PM, Saturday) — Learn how to set up and use Google Cloud Platform

• Career Talk Workshop (5:00 PM, Saturday) — Explore career opportunities in technology

Participants are encouraged to use any tools and technologies they are comfortable with. Commonly used platforms and tools include:

• Google Cloud Platform — Free credits available for participants

• GitHub — Version control and collaboration

• Vercel, Netlify, Heroku — Web application deployment

• AWS and Azure — Cloud computing platforms

• Programming Languages — Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, and others
