Welcome to Clarkathon 2024, Clark University’s annual hackathon where creativity meets innovation! This year, we're bringing together students, developers, and innovators from across disciplines to collaborate on solving real-world problems through technology. Whether you’re an experienced coder or new to hackathons, Clarkathon is a space to learn, build, and bring your ideas to life.
Event Details:
- Date: October 18-20, 2024
- Venue: Clark University MACD Building
- Expected Participants: ~50 students from various backgrounds
- Project Theme: Community Improvement
Requirements
To be considered for judging at Clarkathon 2024, each team must submit the following items through Devpost:
1. Project Overview
- Project Title: A creative and concise title for your project.
- Project Description: A summary of your project that includes the problem you're solving, your solution, and why it's impactful (150-300 words).
- Technology Stack: List the programming languages, frameworks, libraries, and tools you used in building the project.
2. GitHub Repository
- GitHub Link: Provide a public GitHub link to your code repository. Ensure the repository is well-documented with clear installation and usage instructions.
- Code Documentation: Ensure that the GitHub repo includes a README file detailing how to set up, run, and use the project.
3. Project Questions
Answer the following questions about your project:
- Problem Statement: What problem does your project aim to solve? Why is it important?
- Solution: How does your project address the problem? What is your unique approach?
- Key Features: What are the standout features of your project?
- Challenges: What challenges did you encounter during development, and how did you overcome them?
- Theme relation: How is the porject replated to the theme?
- Future Plans: What are the next steps for your project? How would you expand or improve it?
4. Presentation Materials
- PowerPoint Presentation: Upload a slide deck (PowerPoint or PDF format) that explains your project. The presentation should include:
- Problem and solution
- Key features and technology stack
- Demo walkthrough
- Future roadmap
- Video Demonstration (Optional but recommended): Upload a 2-3 minute video showcasing your project. This can include a walk-through of the project, a demo of key features, and an explanation of how it solves the problem.
5. Team Information
- Team Members: List all team members and their roles in the project (developer, designer, etc.).
- Division of Work: Provide a brief explanation of how the work was divided among team members.
- All submissions must be completed and uploaded to Devpost by October 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM EST.
