Frequently asked questions

It is a Fully Managed AWS DevOps Service designed to optimize cloud infrastructure, enhance security, improve reliability, and reduce costs. Our AWS-certified engineers provide ongoing monitoring, automation, and proactive support to help businesses focus on innovation instead of infrastructure management.

Our team offers expert AWS DevOps support at a fraction of the cost of hiring a full in-house team. We provide AWS-certified professionals, automated monitoring, and continuous infrastructure improvements without the overhead of managing an internal team.

Our work is built around AWS best practices, focusing on Security, Cost Optimization, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, and Operational Excellence. We continuously audit your AWS infrastructure, define priority areas for improvement, and ensure your environment stays aligned with AWS standards.

Our team provides a structured, three-phase approach:

  1. Audit & Infrastructure Assessment: A full audit of your AWS environment to assess security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
  2. Onboarding: Setup of monitoring, alerts, and a dedicated support channel.
  3. Ongoing Maintenance & Optimization: Bi-weekly infrastructure checks, security audits, cost optimizations, and monthly upgrade recommendations.

After the Audit & Infrastructure Assessment, we provide a detailed roadmap with recommendations tailored to your business needs. You can choose to move forward with Cloudvisor Managed Service for continuous monitoring and improvements.

Yes! If you only need an infrastructure audit and an improvement roadmap, you can stop after the assessment phase. However, most customers continue with our service for ongoing infrastructure optimization.

We deploy Grafana-based dashboards, AWS-native monitoring tools, and conformance packs to track security, performance, and cost optimization. Alerts are shared in a dedicated Slack channel, and our engineers continuously analyze data for improvements.

CloudPilot provides a two-tiered SLA-based support system:

  • Tier 1:
    • 2-hour response time for first-line support.
    • Fixing medium/low-priority issues within 2 weeks.
  • Tier 2:
    • 30-minute response time for business-critical issues.
    • Fixing time depends on the issue’s complexity.

Yes, 24/7 support is available as an add-on service. We provide round-the-clock availability, with critical issues prioritized and a guaranteed 30-minute response time under our Tier 2 SLA.

Please refer to the Pricing section for details on availability and cost.

  • Audit & Assessment: 2 weeks
  • Onboarding & Setup: 1 week
  • Ongoing Maintenance: Continuous, with bi-weekly reviews

Low Priority (Non-Critical)

No impact on availability, performance, or end-user experience. Often informational or improvement-related. Examples:

  • Request to update a security group rule that doesn’t affect current traffic
  • General cost optimization questions
  • Review of logging or alert setup
  • Documentation updates or non-urgent IaC changes

Response Time: within 2 business hours

Resolution Time Goal: within 2 calendar weeks or based on complexity and agreement.

Medium Priority (Partial Impact / Degraded Performance)

Partial outage or degraded service. A workaround may exist, and production is typically not impacted.

Examples:

  • Staging environment outage
  • Failing backup job (non-critical data)
  • High CPU utilization alert without service crash

Response Time: within 2 business hours

Resolution Time Goal: within 2 calendar weeks ****or based on complexity and agreement.

High Priority (Critical Incident)

Complete outage, critical security issue, or risk of data loss. No viable workaround. Immediate action required.

Examples:

  • Production API or site not reachable
  • Database crash or corruption
  • Active security breach

Response Time: within 30 min (business hours)

Resolution Time Goal: Resolution time depends on the issue, but as soon as possible.

Cloudvisor Managed Service gives startups a senior DevOps team without the hiring headache. Instead of juggling infrastructure on top of product work, your engineers focus on shipping features while our AWS-certified team keeps the cloud side running smoothly.

For a fast-growing startup this means:

  • Fewer production incidents thanks to stronger security, monitoring, and alerting

  • Faster releases powered by CI/CD pipelines and repeatable infrastructure as code

  • Lower AWS bills over time, as we constantly look for wasted resources and better architecture choices

  • Clear priorities every month, not vague reports that never turn into action

Because the service is priced against your AWS spend and backed by SLAs, you get predictable cost, clear expectations, and a DevOps roadmap that grows with your product.

Most teams come to us with the same pain points: manual deployments, unclear responsibilities, rising AWS costs, and a general feeling that “things work, but we’re one incident away from chaos.” Cloudvisor Managed Service is designed to fix exactly that.

We start with an audit to uncover security gaps, cost leaks, reliability risks, and performance bottlenecks. Then we:

  • Set up structured monitoring with dashboards, alerts, and conformance packs

  • Replace fragile, one-off scripts with infrastructure as code and stable deployment pipelines

  • Introduce regular bi-weekly reviews and monthly recommendations so your environment keeps improving

  • Tie everything together with a dedicated Slack channel and SLA-backed response times

The result is an AWS environment that is easier to run, safer by default, and cheaper to maintain without distracting your team from building the product.

Yes. Many customers already have strong developers or even a DevOps engineer on the team. Cloudvisor steps in as an AWS-focused extension of your existing capabilities.

Your internal team keeps full control over the product and core logic, while we:

  • Bring deep AWS platform expertise and best practices

  • Design and maintain the foundation: networking, security, monitoring, CI/CD, and cost control

  • Share ready-to-implement action items so your team always knows what to tackle next

  • Cover on-call and incident response within agreed SLAs, so you’re not relying on a single person

This way, your developers don’t burn time fighting infrastructure fires, and your DevOps engineer gets a partner rather than trying to hold the entire AWS platform on their own. When you’re ready, you can book a short call and we’ll review how this model would look for your setup.

AWS Cost Optimization — what & why

AWS cost optimization means paying only for what you use while keeping performance steady. We review usage patterns, trim waste, pick the right pricing models, and add guardrails (tags, budgets, alerts) so bills stay predictable as your footprint grows.

Optimization tracks

  1. Rightsizing & autoscaling:

We downshift oversized EC2/EKS workloads, tune container requests/limits, and enable autoscaling for peaks. Compute Optimizer guides choices; load tests confirm latency and error budgets stay healthy while steady-state costs drop.

  2. Savings Plans & RIs strategy:

We analyze coverage and utilization, then buy Savings Plans or Reserved Instances that match real baselines. Staggered terms, exchanges, and regional mix keep discounts high without boxing you into the wrong instance families.

  3. Storage & data transfer tuning:

S3 lifecycle moves cold data to cheaper tiers; analytics files use Parquet and partitioning. We clean unattached EBS and rein in snapshots. For egress, CloudFront, PrivateLink, placement tweaks, and Direct Connect reduce network spend.

  4. Efficient architectures:

Graviton cuts CPU costs, Spot handles fault-tolerant work, and serverless trims idle time. For data, right-size Redshift, cache hot queries, and avoid full-table scans. We document safe patterns your team can reuse.

  5. Visibility, tagging & FinOps:

Clear tags (owner, app, env) power Cost Explorer and CUR dashboards. Budgets and anomaly detection catch spikes early. Weekly reviews assign owners, track savings, and keep improvements from drifting over time.

Maximize efficiency, minimize spend

Designed specifically for startups and growing companies, this service helps you align your AWS costs with actual usage, improve efficiency, and maximize ROI.

What We Uncover in a Typical Review

Based on hundreds of audits, here are the most common cost leaks and security gaps we identify and help our customers resolve.

💰 Top Cost Saving Opportunities

Our actionable guidance focuses on eliminating waste and maximizing your ROI. We frequently help customers address:

  • Idle & Underutilized Resources: Identifying assets that are running but barely used, quietly draining your budget.
  • Orphaned Storage: Spotting unattached EBS volumes or volumes still attached to stopped EC2 instances.
  • Sizing Mismatches: Pinpointing over-provisioned (wasting money) or under-provisioned (hurting performance) instances.
  • Legacy Infrastructure: Upgrading old generation instances and EBS volumes to newer, more cost-effective equivalents.
  • Missed Discounts: Highlighting On-Demand instances that should be covered by Savings Plans or Reserved Instances for massive savings.

🔒 Security & Architecture Best Practices

Cost optimization shouldn’t compromise reliability. Your report also includes a vital health check of your infrastructure:

  • Access Management: Flagging IAM users that are not utilizing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Credential Hygiene: Identifying stale access keys that pose an unnecessary security risk.
  • Public Exposure: Securing publicly accessible RDS database instances and S3 buckets.
  • Data Protection: Spotting critical RDS instances running without proper encryption.
  • Backup & Recovery: Highlighting EBS volumes that are missing automated snapshots.

Frequently asked questions

If you still have any questions, feel free to contact us and we will help you as best as we can.

AWS cost optimization means getting the same or better performance for less money. We review usage, right-size compute and storage, pick the best pricing models (On-Demand, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances), and remove waste. Strong tagging, budgets, and alerts keep spend predictable. The payoff is lower monthly bills and fewer surprises as usage grows.

We start with Cost Explorer, AWS Compute Optimizer, and Trusted Advisor to spot idle or over-provisioned resources. Typical fast wins include downsizing EC2, moving to Graviton, turning on autoscaling, buying Savings Plans for steady workloads, cleaning orphaned EBS and snapshots, and setting smart S3 lifecycle rules. Most clients see meaningful savings in the first month.

Both trade commitment for lower rates. Savings Plans cover EC2, Fargate, and Lambda with flexible instance families and regions. Reserved Instances are narrower but can suit specific, steady EC2 footprints. We analyze baseline usage, risk tolerance, and term (1- or 3-year) to build a purchase plan that saves money without locking you into the wrong shape.

We look at CPU, memory, and I/O over time, not just daily peaks. Autoscaling handles spikes; smaller instances or Graviton often handle the steady state. For containers, we tune requests/limits and bin-packing. For serverless, we review Lambda memory/timeouts. Tests and canary rollouts keep latency and error rates where they should be while spend drops.

Yes, when used safely. We move fault-tolerant parts (batch jobs, stateless services, CI/CD) to Spot with capacity rebalancing and multi-AZ fallback. For Kubernetes, we mix on-demand and Spot node groups. Workloads that can restart or retry are great candidates. We track interruption rates and keep clear SLOs so savings don’t trade off reliability.

We apply lifecycle policies that move cold data to cheaper S3 tiers (IA, Glacier Instant Retrieval, Glacier), compress and partition analytics files, and delete unused versions. For EBS, we remove unattached volumes, right-size gp3, and cap snapshots with retention rules. Regular reviews catch “quiet” growth that slowly pushes storage bills up.

Often, yes. We reduce cross-AZ chatter with smarter placement, shift chatty services into the same AZ, use PrivateLink for VPC-to-service traffic, enable CloudFront for egress, and review NAT patterns. For hybrid, Direct Connect can beat internet egress at scale. Clear network diagrams reveal the handful of links that drive most of the spend.

Tags make spend traceable to teams, products, and environments. With good keys (owner, app, env, cost-center), you can set budgets, showback/chargeback, and alert on drift. We add guardrails for tag enforcement, build dashboards, and set weekly reviews so engineering and finance speak the same language and fix waste quickly.

We configure AWS Budgets for monthly and forecast alerts, Cost Anomaly Detection for sudden spikes, and Cost Explorer reports by service, tag, and reservation coverage. For deeper views, we add CUR (Cost and Usage Report) to S3 and a simple dashboard. The goal is clear ownership, early warnings, and no end-of-month panic.

Yes. We advise on AWS credits and the Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) when eligible, then bake those into the savings plan. We also run Well-Architected Reviews to find risk and waste across the five pillars, focusing on cost and reliability. You get practical fixes, a schedule, and measurable results that hold up over time.

If you still have any questions, feel free to contact us and we will help you as best as we can.

An AWS Infrastructure Audit is a structured check of a workload against the AWS Well-Architected Framework. We walk through six pillars—operational excellence, security, reliability, performance, cost, and sustainability—inside the Well-Architected Tool. You get a clear list of High-Risk Issues (HRI), quick wins, and a step-by-step plan to fix gaps without breaking what already works.

Cloud setups drift over time. A review shows where risks and waste hide before they turn into incidents or big bills. You’ll get practical fixes across security, reliability, and spend, plus a simple order of work. Many teams uncover easy savings and remove noisy alerts. It’s a fast way to regain confidence in a growing AWS footprint.

You receive a workload report from the Well-Architected Tool, a prioritized list of HRIs, and a 30/60/90-day remediation plan. We include links and code notes where helpful, cost and performance tips, and owners for each task. The goal is simple: a clear path your team can execute without guesswork or long detours.

The Infrastructure Audit process is designed to be fast and collaborative. First, Cloudvisor will work with you to identify a specific workload or application in your AWS environment to review (usually one that is critical or representative of your infrastructure). We’ll schedule a discovery meeting (which can be remote) where an AWS-certified solutions architect leads a structured discussion about your architecture, using the AWS Well-Architected Tool and question framework.

Typically, we only need about 1–4 hours of your team’s time for the review meeting, depending on the size and complexity of the workload. During this session, we’ll ask questions and perhaps look at your AWS console read-outs – it’s an interactive whiteboard-style conversation, not an intrusive audit. After gathering information, our team analyzes the findings against the 6 pillar best practices. Within a few days (up to about two weeks at most for very complex environments), we deliver a report detailing any high-risk issues and improvement recommendations.

In short, the effort from your side is a brief meeting, and then we handle the analysis and deliver results swiftly.

An AWS Infrastructure Audit helps you align your cloud architecture with AWS best practices, resulting in tangible benefits for your business. Cost savings is a major benefit – the review often uncovers unused resources or misconfigured services that drive up cloud bills, so you can eliminate waste. It also boosts performance and reliability, by identifying bottlenecks or single points of failure and recommending optimizations (for example, improving autoscaling or fault tolerance). Security gets stronger too: AWS-certified reviewers will flag security gaps (like missing encryption or overly permissive access) and guide you on how to fix them. Overall, you get a prioritized action plan to improve your infrastructure’s operational excellence, security, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency. Most organizations find the improvements extremely valuable – over 80% of reviews surface critical issues to address, which once fixed lead to more stable, efficient systems. For you, this means better application uptime, happier customers, and peace of mind that your AWS environment follows proven best practices.

It costs nothing when you work with an authorized AWS partner like Cloudvisor. AWS sponsors the Well-Architected Review program, making the entire process free of charge for customers. There’s no catch or hidden fee; the goal is to help you improve your cloud deployments. In fact, AWS is so invested in this process that if you decide to implement the recommended improvements, you can qualify for up to $5,000 in AWS service credits to offset the costs of those fixes. This incentive (often called the AWS remediation credit) is AWS’s way of encouraging businesses to close any high-risk gaps found during the review. In summary, the review itself is 100% free, and it may even pay you back in credits once you take action on the results.

An HRI is a gap that could cause an outage, security incident, data loss, or needless cost. Examples include broad IAM permissions, missing backups, weak logging, or no multi-AZ plan. We rank each HRI by impact and effort, then map it to a fix. Clearing HRIs is the fastest way to reduce risk and calm on-call.

We cover all six pillars: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability. The mix depends on your goals. A payments app may lean on security and reliability; a data platform may care more about performance and spend. We keep the session practical and tie every finding to a clear action.

Yes. If your workload is serverless, SaaS, or machine learning-heavy, we include the matching lens. Lenses add domain-specific checks that catch issues general guidance can miss, such as event retries, tenant isolation, model drift, or feature store design. You’ll see lens findings alongside standard pillar items in the same simple action plan.

Reader-level access to the AWS account is usually enough, along with architecture diagrams and a quick system overview. We run the questions in the Well-Architected Tool and review logs, metrics, and alerts where needed. No risky changes happen during the review. Any fixes are planned and executed later with your team’s approval.

After the review, you will receive a detailed Well-Architected Review report summarizing our findings. This report includes a list of any high-risk issues (HRIs) or deviations from best practices that were identified, organized by priority. We’ll walk you through specific recommendations for each issue – for example, enabling multi-AZ for a database, adjusting IAM policies, resizing or right-sizing instances, improving monitoring, etc.

You’ll essentially have a clear roadmap of what to fix and how to fix it. At that point, it’s up to you how to proceed. You can take the plan and have your team implement the changes, or you can engage Cloudvisor to assist with remediation. There’s no obligation to use additional services, but most teams choose to fix at least the critical items. If you do address at least 25% of the high-risk issues within 30 days, AWS will award you $5,000 in AWS credits as a thank-you for improving your architecture.

These credits can be applied to your AWS bill. Finally, once improvements are made, we can even run a follow-up to validate the fixes. Many companies make the Well-Architected Review an annual or bi-annual practice to continuously improve their cloud environment.

Plan on a full audit every 6–12 months, or sooner after big changes like new regions, major releases, traffic spikes, or a security event. Smaller quarterly check-ins help keep drift in check: verify backups, access, cost coverage, and incident learnings. This rhythm catches issues early, keeps standards current, and prevents surprises from piling up.

Your audit is led by certified AWS architects from Cloudvisor, senior experts who run these sessions every week. Cloudvisor has a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with AWS, so we follow current guidance and know how funding and follow-up work. Expect people who can read your setup quickly, ask the right questions, and turn findings into a clear, do-able action plan.

No – the review process is non-invasive and will not cause any downtime or service interruptions. A Well-Architected Review is essentially an assessment and discussion. We don’t make any changes to your live environment during the review itself. Instead, our experts examine configurations, ask questions, and use read-only tools to gather data. It’s important to know this is not a formal audit or compliance check; think of it as a cloud architecture consultation.

The atmosphere is collaborative – we’re here to help, not to find fault. In fact, AWS emphasizes that a Well-Architected Review is a “discussion, not an audit,” focused on identifying improvements.

Your systems continue running as normal throughout. After the review, you choose which improvements to implement and when – any changes are done on your schedule. Many clients appreciate that the WAR process gives valuable insights without any risk to their production uptime.

AWS provides the Well-Architected Tool in the AWS console, which means you can attempt a self-guided audit of your workloads. The framework is designed to be accessible to customers directly. However, working with a certified AWS partner is highly recommended for the best results. The AWS Well-Architected Framework is vast – it involves dozens of questions and checks. For busy teams, it can be challenging to interpret the results and know exactly how to apply the recommendations.

We have conducted many reviews and can streamline the process, asking the right questions and drilling into areas that matter most for startups and tech teams. We bring expert knowledge to help quickly identify issues and recommend practical fixes, saving you time and effort.

Additionally, only reviews conducted by authorized AWS partners qualify for the $5k credit incentive. In short, while you can use AWS’s tool on your own, teaming up with a partner ensures you get maximum value with minimal hassle – it’s a faster, more thorough path to an optimized cloud.

AWS Well-Architected Framework Review: Free evaluation and optimization

We identify gaps and address high-risk issues, ensuring that your AWS systems are fully optimized, secure, and performing at their best.

  • Free review
  • Free remediation
Services 193

What is AWS Well-Architected Review?

An AWS Well-Architected Review (WAR) is a guided assessment of your cloud architecture using AWS best practices. Think of it as a workload “health check” focused on identifying gaps that lead to outages, security exposure, performance bottlenecks, and unnecessary AWS spend.

We review your workload across AWS’s six pillars:

  • Operational Excellence – monitoring, incident response, change management, runbooks

  • Security –  IAM, network controls, encryption, logging, least privilege

  • Reliability – fault tolerance, backups, DR, scaling behavior, dependency risks

  • Performance Efficiency – right service choices, compute/storage patterns, scaling strategy

  • Cost Optimization – right-sizing, commitment strategy, waste, data transfer, storage tiers

  • Sustainability – efficient resource use and scaling patterns that avoid waste

The result is not “generic advice.” It’s a practical map of what to fix first and why.

*The entire process comes at no cost.
Our AWS Well-Architected Framework Review service is entirely free of charge. It’s funded by AWS, and once the review and remediation stages are completed, we kindly ask you to submit a satisfaction survey, allowing us to receive payment from AWS for the services provided.

Frequently asked questions

If you still have any questions, feel free to contact us and we will help you as best as we can.

An AWS Well-Architected Review is a structured check of a workload against the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

The Well-Architected Review process is designed to be fast and collaborative.

An AWS Well-Architected Review helps you align a workload with AWS best practices and turn “we should fix this someday” into a clear plan. You’ll get practical improvements across the six pillars (security, reliability, performance, cost, operational excellence, sustainability) with a prioritized action plan.

  • Lower AWS spend: find idle/overprovisioned resources, waste, and high-cost misconfigurations (plus easy savings opportunities).

  • Better reliability & uptime: remove single points of failure, validate backup/DR, and tighten scaling, health checks, and fault-tolerance.

  • Stronger security: catch common gaps like overly permissive IAM, missing encryption, weak logging, and exposed services, then get clear fixes.

  • Faster performance: identify bottlenecks and tuning opportunities (compute, storage, database, caching, and architecture choices).

  • Clear next steps: leave with a roadmap your team can execute, what to fix first, why it matters, and the expected impact.

It costs nothing when you work with an authorized AWS partner like Cloudvisor. AWS sponsors the Well-Architected Review program, making the entire process free of charge for customers. There’s no catch or hidden fee; the goal is to help you improve your cloud deployments.

These credits can be applied to your AWS bill. Finally, once improvements are made, we can even run a follow-up to validate the fixes. Many companies make the Well-Architected Review an annual or bi-annual practice to continuously improve their cloud environment.

Plan on a full review every 6–12 months, or sooner after big changes like new regions, major releases, traffic spikes, or a security event. Smaller quarterly check-ins help keep drift in check: verify backups, access, cost coverage, and incident learnings. This rhythm catches issues early, keeps standards current, and prevents surprises from piling up.

Your review is led by certified AWS architects from Cloudvisor, senior experts who run these sessions every week.

AWS provides the Well-Architected Tool in the AWS console, which means you can attempt a self-guided review of your workloads.

Data Engineering on AWS: What & Why

Data engineering on AWS means building the pipes that collect, clean, and shape data so teams can trust every chart and metric. We map sources, land raw data in S3, model it for analysts, and serve it fast in Redshift or Athena. Real-time feeds stay stable, nightly jobs stay predictable, and costs stay visible.

The payoff: quicker answers, fewer manual fixes, and a stack your team can actually run.

Focus areas

  1. Batch & streaming pipelines:

We ingest from apps, databases, and events, then move data through Kinesis or MSK and scheduled jobs into S3 and warehouses. Fresh, replayable streams and reliable nightly loads keep dashboards current.

  2. Lake / lakehouse on S3:

Open formats on S3 (Parquet, Iceberg) give cheap storage, time travel, and tidy partitions. Query with Athena or serve curated layers to Redshift for speed, governance, and simpler access policies.

  3. Warehouse with Redshift:

Redshift powers fast SQL for BI and product analytics. We design schemas, sort/dist keys, and workload management so teams get consistent query times and predictable spend as usage grows.

  4. Orchestration & modeling (Airflow + dbt):

Airflow schedules runs with clear dependencies and alerts. dbt turns business logic into versioned models and tests. Together they keep transformations transparent, reviewable, and easy to hand over.

  5. Quality, monitoring, and cost control:

We add tests at sources and models, wire metrics to CloudWatch, and alert on drift or slowdowns. Storage stays compressed, scans stay tight, and unused resources switch off automatically.

Frequently asked questions

If you still have any questions, feel free to contact us and we will help you as best as we can.

Data engineering is the work of collecting, cleaning, and moving data so teams can trust what they see. On AWS, that usually means building pipelines into S3, a data warehouse such as Amazon Redshift, or a lakehouse. With well-built jobs and clear models, analysts and product teams get reliable metrics, faster experiments, and fewer ad-hoc fixes.

We plan and build pipelines, batch and real-time feeds, warehouses and lakehouses, and the monitoring around them. Typical tools include Amazon S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lake Formation, MSK (Kafka), Kinesis, Step Functions, and orchestration with Airflow. We also set up dbt for modeling and testing so your business logic lives in version control and stays auditable.

Both work; the right choice depends on your tools, team skills, and cost profile. ETL transforms data before loading, which can cut storage but adds complexity in the pipeline. ELT lands raw data first (often in S3 or Redshift) and runs transforms inside the warehouse with dbt or SQL. We help you pick a path based on scale, latency needs, and controls.

A lake on S3 offers cheap storage and open formats (Parquet, Iceberg/Delta-style layouts). A warehouse such as Redshift gives fast SQL and simpler access control. A lakehouse blends both: open storage plus warehouse-like performance. We map your sources, query patterns, and budget, then choose a target that balances speed, flexibility, and governance.

For streams we commonly use Amazon Kinesis or MSK (managed Kafka) for ingestion, Glue or Flink/Spark for processing, and land curated views in Redshift or S3 for analytics. We add dead-letter queues, retries, and clear alerts so bad events don’t break dashboards. The goal is fresh data with strong backpressure handling and predictable costs.

We add tests and contracts at every step. Sources get schema checks; transforms include dbt tests for nulls, ranges, and referential rules; and pipelines ship metrics to CloudWatch or a data observability layer. When a field drifts or a job slows down, alerts fire with a clear owner and runbook, so fixes are fast and traceable.

Most builds center on S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lake Formation, Step Functions, and CloudWatch. For streams, Kinesis and MSK are common. For modeling and orchestration, we favor dbt and Airflow. When open table formats are needed, we use Iceberg-style tables for reliable partitions and time travel. Choices are driven by your skills, scale, and roadmap.

Smaller builds (one to three sources into a warehouse with dbt models) often take four to eight weeks. Larger programs, multiple sources, streaming, lakehouse layers, and governance can run a quarter or more. Timeline drivers include data quality at the source, security reviews, the number of transforms, and how quickly we can test with real workloads.

We right-size clusters, use auto-suspend where possible, cache hot queries, and tune partitioning to avoid scanning the whole lake. Storage sits in compressed columnar formats; cold data moves to cheaper tiers. We add spend dashboards, daily checks, and clear owners. The result is predictable bills without surprise spikes from a single runaway job.

Everything starts with least-privilege IAM, encryption at rest and in transit, and network boundaries. Lake Formation helps manage fine-grained access; Redshift and Athena policies keep PII on a tight leash. We log access, add column masking where needed, and keep audit trails. If you have HIPAA, SOC 2, or GDPR needs, we align builds to those controls.

We cover identity, network, data, and monitoring. That means strong IAM with least privilege and MFA, SSO where it helps, clean VPC design, private subnets, and sane security groups. For data, we set KMS keys, encryption in transit, and safe secrets storage. GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, and Config keep watch and record changes. We add patching, backup rules, and playbooks for incidents. You get clear owners, weekly checks, and a short list of fixes that move risk down right away.

We start with least privilege and remove standing admin rights. Access goes through SSO and MFA, with short-lived credentials instead of long-lived keys. We group permissions by job function, add permission boundaries for safety, and use access analyzer to catch wide policies. For workloads, roles beat access keys. We log role use and rotate any remaining secrets. The result is a setup that’s safer day to day and still easy for engineers to get work done.

We segment networks by environment and sensitivity, use private subnets, and keep databases off the public internet. VPC endpoints limit traffic to AWS services without crossing the open web. For inbound paths, we place ALB/NLB in front, pair AWS WAF where needed, and keep security groups tight. We add GuardDuty for threat findings, Flow Logs for visibility, and Systems Manager for patching. If you need site-to-site links, we design VPN or Direct Connect with clear limits and monitoring.

Every account gets CloudTrail for API activity and Config to track resource drift. Metrics and logs land in CloudWatch with retention that matches your audit needs. We wire GuardDuty, Security Hub, and IAM Access Analyzer, then send only high-signal alerts to on-call. Low-value noise is muted or grouped. We build simple dashboards and weekly reports so owners can spot new risks, review changes, and confirm that backups, keys, and alarms are where they should be.

We turn on encryption with KMS keys, enforce bucket policies that block public reads, and add object ownership and versioning. Access goes through roles, not static keys. For databases, we use TLS, encrypted storage, and parameter groups that close risky features. Backups run on a schedule with cross-region copies and periodic restore tests. Lifecycle rules move old data to cheaper, encrypted tiers. We also flag PII locations and apply tighter access and logging around those stores.

Yes. We deploy AWS WAF with managed rules and targeted custom rules for your app paths. For DDoS resilience, we use CloudFront and AWS Shield protections. Secrets Manager or Parameter Store holds credentials with rotation. We review headers, TLS settings, and error handling on the edge. For CI/CD, we add checks for hardcoded secrets and block bad images from reaching production. Everything ties back to alerts with clear owners so issues are found and fixed quickly.

We build guardrails that map to common controls: least privilege, encryption, logging, retention, backup, and change tracking. Security Hub standards checks help prove control coverage. We document who can access what, how changes are approved, and where logs live. If you need HIPAA, we confirm BAAs, isolate PHI, and apply tighter monitoring. For GDPR, we add data location notes and delete flows. We don’t issue certifications, but we prepare the ground so audits go smoothly.

We create a runbook for the most likely cases: leaked keys, suspicious logins, malware on a host, or a risky bucket change. GuardDuty and CloudTrail findings feed a triage channel. We use tags and automation to isolate affected resources, rotate keys, and restore from known-good backups. Afterward, we review what happened, add missing alerts, and fix root causes. The goal is fast isolation, clean recovery, and a short list of concrete improvements you can ship right away.

We set up a landing zone with separate accounts for prod, staging, shared services, and security. Service control policies block risky actions at the top. Centralized CloudTrail and GuardDuty make it easier to see trouble across accounts. Identity goes through SSO with MFA and short sessions. Shared tooling (patching, backups, images) lives in one place, while teams work in their own accounts. This lowers blast radius and makes reviews and billing far clearer.

Yes. We offer steady care: monthly reviews of GuardDuty and Security Hub, IAM cleanup, patch status, and backup tests. We rotate keys and certificates on schedule, check S3 for drift, and keep WAF rules fresh. When AWS releases a helpful feature, we plan a safe rollout. You get a short report with actions, owners, and dates enough structure to keep things tight without burying your team in process.

What is AWS Reseller?

An AWS reseller is an AWS partner company that has been authorized by Amazon Web Services to sell AWS products to customers.

Resellers buy cloud resources in bulk at discounted rates and then sell them to end‑users, usually bundling the services with cost‑visibility tools, consulting and ongoing support. This arrangement makes cloud computing more accessible to startups and small businesses that want expert help rather than dealing directly with AWS.

Buying AWS services directly from Amazon gives you complete control and access to every AWS program, but it also means you may handle billing, security, cost management and support on your own.

Why Choose Cloudvisor as Your AWS Reseller

  1. Immediate cost savings:

A 3% discount on all AWS spend and 50–90 % off standard CloudFront rates.

  2. Dedicated advisor:

Each customer receives a dedicated solutions architect for technical questions and infrastructure reviews.

  3. Free consulting:

Cloudvisor provides annual architecture reviews and cost reviews at no extra cost.

  4. Streamlining AWS onboarding:

  5. Enterprise‑grade monitoring:

Higher‑spend plans include real‑time infrastructure dashboards and quarterly strategy sessions.

  6. Attractive EC2 discounts:

Frequently asked questions

If you still have any questions, feel free to contact us and we will help you as best as we can.

AWS Resell refers to the service offered by authorized AWS Partners who resell AWS services to end customers. This allows customers to purchase AWS services through the partner, often combined with additional services and support.

Cloudvisor is authorized reseller AWS and is free to join and so are the benefits. We help startups get more from of AWS for less money spent. Register today and get access to instant discounts, free consulting and AWS Credits.

At Cloudvisor we have one simple goal: We help startups scale with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Benefits include personalized customer service, access to additional support and consulting services, and often, customized solutions that better fit your business needs compared to direct purchase from AWS.

Yes, as an AWS Partner, Cloudvisor can provide management and optimization services for your AWS resources, helping you make the most out of your AWS investment.

In essence, this means that you will stop receiving invoices for used AWS services directly from AWS and start receiving them from Cloudvisor. Technically this simply means that your AWS account will be joining an AWS Organization that is owned and managed by Cloudvisor. Switching billing allows Cloudvisor to provide you with a number of added benefits.

The process of joining an AWS Organization is pretty straightforward. The root user of your AWS account will receive an email from AWS stating that you have been invited to join an AWS Organization that is owned and managed by Cloudvisor. All you need to do is log in to the AWS console and press “OK”. From that moment on, all of your AWS spend will go through Cloudvisor, and you will see the view below once you access “My Organization” in the AWS console.

No, it’s impossible for Cloudvisor to see how you are using your AWS services, nor configurations or data. We will only have access to the billing information, which, naturaly, is needed to generate the invoices for your AWS usage. If you dig deeper into the details about AWS Organizations, you will see that there are two types of them – “All features” and “Consolidated billing”. Cloudvisors Organization is the “Consolidated billing” type, and that will be clearly indicated in the invite you receive from AWS to join it.

As this AWS service currently allows an AWS account to be part of only one Organization, to switch the billing, you will need to leave the old Organization and join ours. It is a simple process (should take 5-15 min max), but we recommend going through it together to save your time – we have done that numerous times already.

It usually takes 1-2 days after AWS issues invoices from their side, so the 5th day of the month is the average when invoices from Cloudvisor arrive to our customers. You’ll be receiving standard invoices with a due date (Yes, no more credit cards!)

Yes, Cloudvisor can assist with setting up your AWS account, planning and executing migrations to AWS, and optimizing your cloud environment for performance, security, and cost.
