CodeFest Official Rules & Participation Guide

Welcome to CodeFest! Please review the following rules to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all teams.

👥 Team Rules
  • Teams may consist of 1–5 members.

  • Teams must be finalized by Saturday, October 11th at 12:30 PM.

  • Team changes after the deadline are not allowed unless approved by organizers.

 

 

 

💻 Project Development Rules
  • All projects must be started from scratch during CodeFest. No pre-existing codebases.

  • AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) are allowed — but teams must disclose their usage in submissions if significant.

  • You may use open-source libraries, frameworks, or APIs as long as they are properly credited.

  • All work must comply with legal and ethical standards. No malicious or harmful software.

 

 

 

📤 Submission Requirements

All teams must submit via Devpost by the deadline.

 

Each submission must include:

 

  1. Project Title & Description

  2. Team Members

  3. GitHub Repository or Code Link

  4. 3–5 Minute Recorded Video Pitch explaining:

  • Problem being solved

  • How it works

  • Demo (if possible)

🚫 Disqualification & Misconduct

Teams may be disqualified for:

 

  • Using pre-existing projects or plagiarizing code

  • Submitting harmful or offensive content

  • Violating the Code of Conduct

  • Failing to attend opening and closing ceremony (required for eligibility)

 

 

 

🏫 Venue Rules
  • The event is hosted in Classroom Wing 3rd Floor.

  • All campus rules and policies apply.

  • No staying in the venue past 11 PM on October 11.

  • Be respectful of shared spaces — clean up & keep noise reasonable.
