We’re excited to announce our investment in Runware, an AI inference platform that makes it easy for developers to add media generation to their products—without the need to manage or update graphic models or scale computing infrastructure. Our participation in this Series A round comes alongside new investors Dawn Capital and SpeedInvest, and existing backers including Insight, a16z speedrun, and Begin Capital.

Runware stands out in the fast-moving AI infrastructure space with a simple API-first approach and a deep focus on generative media. The company’s vertically integrated platform is powered by a proprietary inference engine, which delivers notably faster performance and lower pricing. Since launching in 2023, these advantages have fueled the company’s rapid growth, with Runware now driving media creation for major content, marketing, and social platforms like Wix, Quora, Higgsfield, and ImagineArt.

Demand for AI inference is expected to surge in the coming years. Citi Research projects that token production — the volume of data processed during training and inference — could increase more than 400 times over the next five years. Generative media will likely be a substantial part of that expansion, and we believe Runware’s innovative product and outstanding team, led by Flaviu Radulescu and Ioana Hreninciuc, are well positioned to meet this immense opportunity.

Comcast Ventures partners with forward-thinking companies that have the potential to drive value throughout our ecosystem, including connectivity, business services, and creativity. Runware is just beginning its journey, and we’re excited to work with Flaviu, Ioana, and the entire team as they pursue their mission to offer ‘one API for all AI.’

We’re excited to announce our investment in Creatify, an AI video generation platform that streamlines the production of advertising creative for brands of all sizes. This investment builds on Creatify’s expanding strategic relationship with Comcast, including its recent collaboration on Universal Ads’ new AI-powered video generator, which dramatically reduces the time, cost, and complexity of producing TV-ready commercials – enabling  businesses to create high-quality ads in minutes.

Creatify is reshaping how brands approach video creative by bringing speed, scale, and quality to a space that’s traditionally been resource-intensive. Its elegantly simple platform transforms product URLs, scripts, and user inputs into professional video ads – offering end-to-end solutions for creation, delivery, and analytics. Whether starting with a single product link or incorporating comprehensive brand assets, Creatify empowers users to produce sophisticated, effective advertising campaigns. Our Investment in Wellth https://comcastventures.com/2025/08/21/our-investment-in-wellth/ Thu, 21 Aug 2025 11:43:27 +0000 https://comcastventures.com/?p=13831 ... Our Investment in Wellth]]> By Michelle Chang, Ryan Lee, and Conor Cook of Comcast Ventures

We’re excited to announce our investment in Wellth, an AI-driven platform that uses behavioral economics to improve care and medication plan adherence.

Identifying, adopting and consistently implementing healthier habits is one of healthcare’s most persistent challenges. Despite advances in medical treatments and care protocols, patient consistency to prescribed regimens hovers around 50% across most chronic conditions.  Poor medication adherence has direct and profound consequences, leading to increased costs –  including more than $100 billion annually to the U.S. healthcare system – and serious health complications for patients.

Wellth approaches care planning through the lens of behavioral economics, recognizing that sustainable health behaviors go beyond just willpower—they require the right system of motivation, feedback, and rewards. The platform works seamlessly within existing healthcare ecosystems to provide personalized patient engagement designed to make adherence achievable rather than overwhelming.

Members earn flexible, financial incentives for consistently sticking to care plans, which can be used across categories like groceries, household needs, and home repairs. This approach leverages technology to drive motivation through immediate, tangible bonuses, reinforcing behaviors that lead to long-term health benefits.

Strong, secure and reliable Internet is foundational to helping seniors and others live independently and age longer at home, providing access to innovative tools that monitor their progress and health. Our teams across Comcast Ventures and the broader company are strategically exploring more services and solutions powered by connectivity, including health tech that better enables aging at home.

Wellth uses tech-forward innovation, integrating behavioral science with AI to solve a critical healthcare challenge—adherence—at scale. Its clinical studies demonstrate the platform’s remarkable impact. For members who engage with the app daily, medication adherence increased by up to 16%, and in-patient visits decreased 51%. We believe their approach not only improves patient outcomes but also demonstrates how smart technology and connectivity can reshape care delivery.

Our Investment in Moonvalley https://comcastventures.com/2025/07/14/our-investment-in-moonvalley/ Mon, 14 Jul 2025 13:31:46 +0000 https://comcastventures.com/?p=12795 By Marc Silberman and Conor Cook, Comcast Ventures

We’re excited to announce our investment in Moonvalley, a groundbreaking AI video model and creative studio built on a foundation of clean, fully licensed data sourced directly from creators.

Comcast Ventures assesses companies with advanced technologies that can strategically benefit different parts of our business. The future of content creation and generative AI’s impact on artistic expression are areas where we’ve actively sought out value-aligned startups that share our commitment to — and respect for — the creative community.

Moonvalley stands apart as a highly performant video model of leading scale and quality trained exclusively on licensed and owned data — a critical differentiator in both positioning and product offering.

Video examples created by Moonvalley’s Marey model / Courtesy of Moonvalley

Moonvalley was founded to enhance creative capacity by pairing a state-of-the-art video foundation model (called Marey) with professional-grade controls and seamless integration into existing filmmaking workflows. Importantly, since the company’s founding, Moonvalley has closely collaborated with the broader media and film industries, as evidenced by their acquisition of Asteria — an artist-led generative AI film and animation studio — to build and workshop its model.

Beyond Marey (which publicly launched last week!) and Moonvalley’s industries ties, the technology further distinguishes itself with sophisticated camera controls and customization features. Users can adjust detailed camera settings, control movement speed, and maintain consistent aesthetics across scenes.

We were immediately impressed by Moonvalley’s team of leading generative AI researchers and media innovators, many of whom bring years of experience at some of the world’s leading AI labs.

Moonvalley represents the state-of-the-art in generative video technology that will empower creatives across industries to push their visions further. At Comcast Ventures, we’re encouraged by this innovative technology that acknowledges, respects, and promotes the work of creative professionals.

DoorDash Announces Agreement to Acquire SevenRooms https://comcastventures.com/2025/05/13/doordash-announces-agreement-to-acquire-sevenrooms/ Tue, 13 May 2025 18:41:42 +0000 https://comcastventures.com/?p=12657 Our Investment in Sword Health https://comcastventures.com/2025/02/25/our-investment-in-sword-health/ Tue, 25 Feb 2025 18:53:21 +0000 https://comcastventures.com/?p=12549 By Michelle Chang and Conor Cook, Comcast Ventures

We’re excited to announce our investment in Sword Health, a groundbreaking AI Care platform that combines expert human clinicians with proprietary AI to provide world-class healthcare at home.

As part of Comcast Ventures’ focus on health tech, we are looking at innovative at-home care solutions – like Sword – that leverage high-quality connectivity to expand modes and accessibility of care, as well as evaluating how these companies are approaching emerging technologies like AI, to enhance personalized care.

Sword uniquely pairs human clinical expertise with AI technology to create customized and comprehensive programs based on each member’s needs and goals. Members use Sword’s proprietary devices, like those equipped with sophisticated computer vision technology and AI – including seamless integration with Phoenix, the first AI Care Specialist – to track movement and provide real-time, personalized feedback and corrections. All treatment programs can be done at home on the member’s schedule with ongoing oversight from humanclinical professionals, all of whom hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Sword was founded ten years ago with a mission to make high-quality, personalized treatment for musculoskeletal pain more accessible. Today, Sword serves more than 10 million people through partnerships with major employers and health plans including Citi Group, Cisco, and Independence Blue Cross.

At Comcast Ventures, we have been very impressed with Sword’s leadership team, which is comprised of AI technologists, doctors, and clinical operators who demonstrate a strong execution ability and focus on clinical outcomes. Virgilio “V” Bento, CEO and Co-Founder, developed Sword while pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering and has since secured 33 patents and co-authored 40 research papers. His inspiration also stems from a deeply personal experience – watching his brother’s lengthy rehabilitation after a severe accident that resulted in a year-long coma. This experience showed him the limitations of traditional care models and the challenges patients face as they heal.

Sword’s exceptional outcomes demonstrate the platform’s value to all stakeholders (patients, employers, and providers) with patients recovering faster and better when compared to in-person physical therapy. After enrolling, Sword claims that 67% of patients report being pain-free, 68% report an increase in productivity, and surgery rates drop by 50%. Sword also states that employers see a gross savings of $3,177 per member per year on care for MSK disorders and related chronic conditions and 2x higher engagement than in-person physical therapy. For employers and health plans, every dollar invested in Sword yields three dollars in savings due to more effective, personalized treatment, and avoidance of unnecessary surgeries, the company says.

Using its innovative approach, Sword has delivered over 5 million AI Care sessions to date, helping members manage pain and receive individualized care. As we partner with Sword in their next phase of growth, we’re excited to support their mission of expanding access to quality at-home care, using connectivity to drive strong clinical outcomes.

Comcast Ventures Participates in Cresta’s $125M Series D Round https://comcastventures.com/2024/12/19/comcast-ventures-participates-in-crestas-125m-series-d-round/ Thu, 19 Dec 2024 17:56:32 +0000 https://comcastventures.com/?p=12503 ... Comcast Ventures Participates in Cresta’s $125M Series D Round]]> We’re incredibly excited to announce Comcast Ventures’ participation in Cresta’s $125M Series D round of financing.

From Cresta’s industry-leading technology to their proven success with some of the world’s largest enterprises, there are many reasons why we’re so excited about this partnership. Top of the list, however, is the incredibly strong team assembled under the leadership of Cresta’s CEO, Ping Wu. With a blend of deep AI expertise and experience building customer care tools, the Cresta team is uniquely positioned to continue to innovate and lead in the years to come.

Generative AI is quickly transforming how many enterprises operate, including empowering “behind the scenes” employees in areas like legal and finance to do their jobs more efficiently.  There’s also a significant opportunity for AI to enhance how consumers interact with the products and services they use every day.

While some of these engagements may be fully automated, there’s immeasurable value in having trained professionals handle a wide variety of nuanced and complex consumer touchpoints. And just as AI-based co-pilots can help software engineers write code, these tools can augment and supercharge the work of customer care professionals.

That’s where Cresta comes in.

Cresta provides generative AI tools for both sales and customer service contact centers – helping enterprises uncover insights from customer conversations, drive automation and containment with AI agents, and support human agents with co-pilot tools that provide guidance, knowledge, and workflow automation.
