Or in the desktop app on MacOS, use Cmd+Option+i (on MacOS) or Ctrl+shift+i (Windows, Linux).

Cant export a part First of all - best AI tool so far. Im very intested in long term usage.

After work with AI i got perfect results but I cant export them to STL.

Support: Iterating Design of Custom STP File Hey Rohan,

Just to add to what Austin has already said, operating directly on the imported model via KCL will be limited to operations like subtract, intersect, union. A possible route that would allow natural language and modification of the model would be to ask Zookeeper to recreate the step file in KCL. From there you (or Zookeeper) can iterate on the model using the full suite of KCL commands. We’re working on improving the capabilities of Zookeeper working with various formats like images/pdfs/dxfs/ and CAD interop formats.

One thing to note, Zookeeper may not be able to do a perfect 1:1 recreation of your step file, so you’ll want to ensure the KCL recreation and original step file match first. This can be done in a number of ways, visual inspection, checking various physical analyses like surface area and volume match.

Thanks for your question. Talking to some other team members, it sounds like imported geometry can be used for some operations (like the boolean subtract, intersect, union, etc.) but not edited directly as KCL, which would also mean it can’t be modified directly by Zookeeper. It looks like our documentation could be improved here to explain the limitations and I’ll also check with the ML team to see if we have anything on the roadmap to allow this kind of interaction in the future.

For the import error, I was able to reproduce it with a simple part I made so I raised a bug with the file format team. It might also be part specific, so if you’d like us to investigate your part directly, you could also share it with us. The error message itself isn’t very helpful as there are many reasons import could fail so that is something we also will address.

Support: Iterating Design of Custom STP File Hi Team

I want to know if there is a way to import custom .stp files and then edit them using natural language text and export back.

I tried Zoo Design Studio, I am able to do this for existing samples provided but not on my .stp files. When I import my custom .stp file I get some unknown error. (Image Attached)

Ideally I want to create a workflow, where I will be using your APIs to upload a .stp file, edit it using natural language prompts and export back. Is this possible, right now with your APIs? I can see the iterate/modify design api in ML part of your docs but not to iterate on an existing CAD.
Can you help me with this as well?

I put in a fix last week for this. The engine no longer errors on this command, and all the edges you requested are filleted. Please give it another shot if you’d like. Note that the locations where the fillets interact with each other are still a bit weird in your example; that’s an active area of development, but hopefully this fix is helpful for your project.

I think Zoo Design Studio didn’t show your upgrade right away, you filed some support tickets, then refreshed the app and were actually able to keep on going, since I’m seeing usage from you still. That’s great! Let me know if that’s not the case.

Then I got confused by how our usage tracking works while looking through our backend, but you should now only get billed for your unlimited subscription, not individual usage charges. I’m just confirming that with our payments folks.

So I actually have an action item as a developer: we need to make sure you see your upgraded status right away in the app. I’m going to try to recreate your situation and fix that stale blocked status if that’s the case. Always love it when the issue ends up being something I can fix in my team’s code.

What I think might have happened is that you used Zookeeper a bit on the Free plan with a payment method set, built up an outstanding balance, then switched to Pro to get unlimited use: does that sound right?

I’m talking with our payments folks to help me cancel your outstanding balance, and help them investigate the issue with not canceling any outstanding balance from the same billing period that a user might have from before they switched to Pro.

Cool program... so frustrating also Trying to explain things in xyz … I finally gave up, 2 hours later, I could of build it in Inventor much faster. It does not understand…, remove this, put it there, etc.
A lot of us use www.mcmaster.com… why would I design a part when they have a PDF or 3d. Give you a T-slot 20mm… they have several variation and the price. It’s convenience… especially for prototype.
Here’s a simply work flow… grab a PDF from McMaster, stick it into Corel or Illustrator, add holes and timing, save it as a DXF or DWG. Move it into Inventor and extrude.
Your software would work really well if I could add items to the T-slot and say “Can you make a sliding cart to fit the profile… the cart is 60mm and need a brackets to attach tool like router”
The price is great, the concept is fantastic, but I still can use this… It’s like explain to my wife how this works, she has a puzzled and goes and make cookies or muffin.

I recently signed up for Zoo and have found the app to be amazing. I’m reaching out regarding an issue with my Zoo balance. I used the text‑to‑design feature online, but the balance did not change at that time. I stepped out of the office for a few hours and left the part open online, and when I returned, the balance was at zero.

I’ll help troubleshoot the issue,

  • Are you using the website at https://app.zoo.dev/ ?
  • Are you using the desktop application? On which version?
  • If you click reconnect, does it reconnect? or stay disconnected?
  • Have you connected before or you have never connected to the stream?

There are logs locally stored in the application for connection issues. I can provide a better interface to access and send us these logs to debug and troubleshoot.
