Eligibility

CreateHER Fest is open to women, women of color, and allies passionate about using tech to advance gender equity and inclusion.

✅ All Genders Welcome: Open to everyone committed to solving challenges impacting women in tech and beyond.
✅ Age 17+: Participants must be at least 17 years old. Minors need parental/guardian consent to claim prizes.
✅ Global Participation: Open to all countries (exclusions apply). You’re responsible for taxes on prizes.
✅ Diverse Backgrounds: Coders, designers, activists, students, and professionals—tech experience NOT required!
✅ Code of Conduct: Agree to our [CreateHER Fest Code of Conduct], prioritizing respect, collaboration, and safety.

Project and Submission Requirements

For Idea-thon (Concept Phase):

  1. Project Title + Track (AI/ML, AR/VR, or Blockchain).

  2. Problem Statement (1-2 sentences: What women-centric issue are you solving?).

  3. Solution Summary (How your tech addresses the problem + SDG alignment).

  4. Technical Blueprint (Tools/frameworks you’ll use, e.g., TensorFlow, Unity, Solidity).

  5. Team Roles (List team members’ skills: developer, designer, researcher, etc.).

For Hackathon (Prototype Phase):

  • Working Prototype (Demo link, code repository, or video).

    • Hosted Link: Share a live, interactive version of your product (e.g., web app, mobile demo).
    • Demo Video: A 3-5 minute video showcasing:
      • The problem and your solution.

      • A walkthrough of the prototype’s key features.

      • Which UN SDG(s) does your solution align with

    • Code Repository (GitHub/GitLab link with a README explaining setup)
    • Impact Metrics (How you’ll measure success, e.g., user reach, SDG targets).
  • Pitch Deck (3-5 slides: problem, solution, tech stack, impact).

  • Code Repository (GitHub/GitLab link; include a README explaining setup).
