About the challenge

Welcome to CSBA Hackathon! This hackathon is designed for first-year Lehigh University students and aims to improve their technical skills in a low-pressure environment.

The central theme of this hackathon is "Software for Social Good @Lehigh". You can build anything that will make the lives of Lehigh students better! And winners will get some cool prizes!

Get started

In order to participate in this hackathon please register on this platform. We will only allow registered students to participate in the hackathon. We will also host a few workshops so that you can learn some skills before diving into hacking!

Requirements

What to Build

We have a couple of ideas if you do not know where to start:

  • A mobile app will help Lehigh students track their meal plan balance, dining dollars, etc.
  • A web platform where Lehigh students can sell their furniture
  • A web platform where Lehigh faculty can post research positions, and students can apply for them

What to Submit

If you have a working application, please submit:

  • GitHub repository with all the code
  • Video demonstrating the work of the app AND/OR direct link to the demo

If you do not have a working application, please submit:

  • Presentation with a detailed description of the app (including Figma designs, tech stack, and more)

Note: when judging submissions, preference will be given to teams who have a working application

  • Technical Aptitude
    How technically challenging was this app? Did you have to come up with an innovative or clever way to overcome a challenge you ran into during the building process?
  • Creativity
    Does this app achieve something novel and innovative? Does it address an older problem in a new way?
  • Usefulness
    What problem does this help address? Would people use this on an everyday basis?
