City of College Station CodeFest Rules and Code of Conduct
Participant Requirements
- Participants must be over 15 years of age.
- A suggested team size is up to 4 people or you may compete as an individual.
Event Rules
- All design elements, code, etc. for your project must be created during the event.
- Participants are encouraged to use familiar tools and frameworks.
- Participants may can plan and discuss the problems with your team in ahead of time (if on a team), but coding may not begin in advance of CodeFest.
- Only ten of the competing teams will present the project in the final round of judging at the end of CodeFest. The presenting teams are determined by an initial round of judging taking place during the final hour of CodeFest.
- Teams that will make it to the final round will be given up to 3 minutes to present their projects to the judges.
- The prizes not specified for a certain placement may be awarded on the sole decision of the judges.
- At least one team member must be physically present during sign-in and during presentations to the judges during the assigned time.
- Projects must be submitted before the time is up.
Code of Conduct
- All participants must conduct themselves professionally and adhere to the City’s policies and regulations and sign a release.
- Treat all CodeFest participants, sponsors, organizers and judges with respect.
- Participants will be disqualified and asked to leave the venue at the City’s sole discretion if they violate any City policies or regulations; or if participants disrupt the event or exhibit any behavior that may insult, discriminate or harass anyone in any way.
