Bits & Bytes

Three students sit in a classroom on the floor in between several desks with papers spread out around them, working through a problem.

The Bits & Bytes Program is for high school juniors interested in finding out more about the fields of engineering and computing. We are excited to invite academically talented students who are committed to CWIT’s mission of encouraging and supporting women and other underrepresented groups to be leaders in computing and engineering fields to attend this program. This event is free to attend for the students who are selected.

If selected, participation will include interactions with college students and faculty, an engineering or computing related hands-on design competition, general advice on being a strong STEM college applicant, and more.

Several students work in groups around two large tables in a classroom.

This event typically occurs on Sunday and Monday of President’s Day weekend in February each year. Applications are typically available in November and due in January. Check back here for the application!

Two students sit in desks in a classroom facing each other, working through an engineering example involving water bottles, pencils, tape, and other mixed media.
