Qualifying as a DataWeek "Data + API Hackathon" Team:  

1)  It is required that your team register (click on "Enter an Application") on ChallengePost (http://dataweekhack.challengepost.com/) by Sunday, Sept. 29, at 3:00 PM, so that we can circulate our itinerary of team pitches.  

2)  Teams are strictly limited to five (5) members, but can have as few as one (1) member.  

3) So that team membership is limited to members who actually contribute, team members can, by a 2/3 majority vote, elect to remove a non-participating team member from their team by Sunday, Sept. 29, at 3:00 PM by contacting Brandon on the DataWeek team ([email protected]).   

4)  It is not required that you utilize a sponsor's technology, however there are several sponsor prizes that are only available to teams building on their technology!  (Details will be release at the hackathon.)     

DataWeek "Data + API Hackathon" Judging Criteria:  

1)  Every team will receive two (2) minutes to present their projects, followed by 30 seconds or 1 minute of judges' Q&A (Q&A time will be decided by Sunday, Sept. 29, at 3:30 PM, based on the number of eligible teams, so all judging is completed within two (2) hours.)  

2)  Teams will share their presentation media (PowerPoint, Keynote, executable files, video, etc.) via Dropbox per instructions sent out to all teams by Saturday, Sept. 28, at 10:00 PM. You may also load your web app on our presentation laptop by Sunday, Sept. 29, at 3:45 PM.  

3) ALL PRESENTATIONS MUST BE SENT TO US BY SUNDAY, SEPT. 29, at 3:45 PM, TO QUALIFY TO BE JUDGED!!!!    

4) Judges will review projects based on three (3) criteria: (1) Quality of presentation and communication; (2) Progress of the app, especially as it relates to using data/APIs in interesting/unique ways; and (3) Feasibility as a startup company -- with a clear customer and a clear business model.
