All ages/skill levels welcome. No dues, feel free to bring new friends.
DC404 is experimenting with running hybrid meetings, so like all hacking, we expect issues, but we will improvise, adapt, and overcome.
Our in person meeting is at Manual’s Tavern and our online meeting is via Big Blue Button.
The meeting speaker (when we have one) will be streamed to both the in person and online meetings.
TipsyBacchus will be presenting: From Hunted to Hunter: a beginners guide to OSINT and mindset
This talk is about helping new comers in the field and those that want to stretch their arms a bit into information gathering. We use OSINT in everyday life if you didn’t realize it, from the google search for new restaurants to going on virus total to see if 127.0.0.1 is malicious or not. But how is it used in security and what can be used for? We will cover information gathering on people, companies, threat actors, and the like.
Tipsy is a associate MDR (EDR with a bit of spice) analyst, professionally noisy, a lover of data hoarding and a avid collector of files that should not be available online. He is also addicted to lock picking. Before working in security he would gather threat intelligence from APT communication channels and share it with other researchers in the field.
When not staring at a screen for multiple hours he enjoys his volunteer work with the Social Engineer Community at DEF CON and with different BSides conferences.
We will have time after the presentation for people to share what they are working on. Your project doesn’t have to be complete and slides are not required (like show-n-tell).
The in person meeting and online meeting spaces will open at 13:00 on Saturday so that people will have time to connect and work out any technical issues.
The meeting will start at 14:00.

Stephen Kraus (CommieGIR) and Wesley (CCrashZer0) will be presenting: 3D Printing and CAD
Stephen Kraus – Security Engineer, Automotive Tinkerer and Engineer, and Physics enthusiast who designs and prints replacement auto parts for the Audi Quattros.
Stephen has been doing 3D printing for 15 years from the original Makerbots to modern Creality K2 and Bambu P1 series 3D printers.
Wesley (CCrashZer0), is a cybersecurity enthusiast, ethical hacker, mentor, and maker. His passions run deep and wide, whether he’s diving into security research, developing scripts, or exploring the world of 3D printing. Wesley loves getting down into the nitty-gritty of a new challenge.
Wesley is always on a mission to expand his knowledge and sharpen his skills. You’ll often find Wesley in his lab, solving challenges on platforms like TryHackMe and HackTheBox — usually with a podcast playing in the background. But just as easily, you might catch Wesley jamming to music while fine-tuning a 3D printer.

Come learn about OpenSCAD, the Coder’s Way of doing 3D design. It’s free-as-in-freedom, compact, stingy with your resources, and lets you create easily in ways that are difficult on other systems. We will look at how to get started, discuss some interesting features, and show how to overcome some of its limitations. No AI was used in any part of this talk.
Charles Shapiro is a retired computer programmer with about 40 years experience in a variety of environments, from DEC RSTS/E and VAX/VMS through Linux, GIS, and Python. His current interests include 3D printing, computer vision, and game design.

Tom Cross will be presenting: After 30 years, we’ve lost the CDA fight.
30 years ago the EFGA was founded because of the imminent passage of the Communications Decency Act, which posed an existential threat to small online communities. Last year, Georgia passed a new law that poses a similar threat. Georgia Senate Bill 351 has multiple provisions requiring different websites to check user’s IDs. While some parts of SB351 have been temporarily enjoined by the courts, other parts have been upheld and are now being enforced. This talk will retell the early history of the EFGA, and discuss the implications SB351, including the need for more local advocacy for civil liberties online.
Tom Cross helped cofound EFGA in 1995. He is a computer engineer with a long term interest in the intersection between technology and policy. He is a Georgia Tech grad and the Head of Threat Research at GetReal Security, where he works to combat Deepfake based fraud.

]]>All ages/skill levels welcome.
We will not have a formal presentation.
This meeting will be a discussion of the changes in the relationship between DC404 and DEF CON.
The meeting will be streamed to our Big Blue Button server (BBB instructions below) and we plan to allow the online attendees to be heard by those in person.
In May 2025 the DEF CON board posted rule changes for DEF CON Groups, in the form of FAQs, to the DEF CON Discord server dcg-faq-text channel.
The original FAQ postings were removed and replaced by a summary, on the DEF CON Discord server dcg-announcements channel.
A copy of the original FAQs can be downloaded from xray’s web site: DEF CON Groups FAQs
We the stewards of DC404 do not agree with the new DEF CON Group rules.
We the stewards of DC404 believe that our relationship with DEF CON does not bring any value, but adds untenable requirements.
We the stewards of DC404 will move forward without our DEF CON relationship so DC404 will no longer be an official DEF CON Group.
DC404 members who feel that a relationship with DEF CON has value, can reach out to DEF CON to form a new DEF CON Group under the new rules.
The in person meeting and online meeting spaces will open at 13:00 on Saturday so that people will have time to connect and work out any technical issues.
The meeting will start at 14:00.
