Introducing DeFi The Conventional (DFTC) 2022:

DFTC is planned to be Canada's largest Web3 Hackathon. It will take place at uOttawa and online from March 25th to March 27th. The hackathon is FREE to attend in-person, we will be providing FREE transportation to Ottawa and FREE accommodations.

The event is proudly and officially sponsored by Terra.

The hackathon consists of a large-scale 36h hybrid (both in-person and online) programming competition, where the goal for hackers is to create blockchain solutions from given challenges that help improve the Cosmos and Terra ecosystems. More information on these public decentralized Web3 environments can be found on Terra's official website: https://www.terra.money/

The competition has a total prize pool of CAN$12,000 distributed among 3 challenge sections:

First: $2,500

Second: $1,000

Third: $500

(Prizes will be awarded in UST or Luna)

Looking for a job in DeFi? Terra is looking for potential employees from this event

Every protocol on Terra has gained large numbers of users in the past year. In turn, this drove up demand for new developers in the Terra Ecosystem. The Terra ecosystem is looking for developers that show excellent performance, initiative, and willingness to build great ideas in the Web3 space.
This event is supported by the Terra Builder Alliance, an organization that helps aspiring developers find their place within the Terra Ecosystem.

No Experience with DeFi or blockchain? We have workshops just for you!

DFTC also includes a series of workshops intended to help attendees get familiarized with the Ecosystem

The workshops will be held before the hackathon to allow attendees to be better prepared

These will be live-streamed at http://twitch.tv/terrahackathon

The first workshop is being held on March 2nd, 6PM EST.

Here, we introduce the basics of blockchain, decentralization, Proof of Stake, Decentralized Stablecoins, and a very high-level overview of the Terra Development Ecosystem.

We're hosting the second workshop on March 16th, 6PM EST.

This will be a more advanced workshop, covering an introduction to Rust, smart contract architecture, and a code-along for creating a basic Decentralized Application.
