Inspiration
We wanted to make fun things that involved the "67" meme. It reminded us of Flappy Bird, so we built that, and other games came along the way too!
What it does
67 Games is a hand-gesture gaming platform that uses the viral "67 gesture" to control games. Players alternate hands (left up, then right up) to interact, making gameplay intuitive and fun for players and viewers.
Reimagine game control by replacing buttons and keyboards with natural hand gestures. The alternating "67" motion creates a simple, engaging control scheme that’s easy to learn and fun to watch.
There are three games available:
- Flappy 67 - Make the Quackers bird fly with the 67 motion!
- Counting Game - Counts how many 67s you can do in a short period of time!
- Rhythm Game - Hit notes with your 67 action!
How we built it
- Started off with finding a reliable hand detection model
- Started building Flappy 67
- Continued to tune the hand detection model to suit Flappy 67
- Created more games
- Played around with the different parameters of the games to give a better user experience
Challenges we ran into
- Detecting the hands consistently
- Tracking/detecting the "67" motions accurately
The 67 Gesture The control scheme uses the alternating hand motion from the viral "67 hand sign" trend. Players alternate raising their left and right hands to perform actions, creating a natural, rhythmic interaction.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Bringing "67" to the hackathon :)
None of us have worked with any software that integrates the live video feed before so hacking out a whacky idea into a great fun project is a new core memory.
What we learned
We love brainrot and we are capable of incorporating brainrot into our favourite games
What's next for 67 Games
- Reduce latency between frontend and the detection model
- Possibly choose another game engine or move to a web based browser to make it cross-platform
