Are you too busy or struggling with how to help contribute to social justice? activeallies is here to help you sustainably participate in social activism! The site has two important parts to reflect activism: learning and taking action. You even don’t have to sign up for an account to learn about social justice causes and events, it’s that simple. But with an account, you can bookmark events, readings, and other forms of media you like to easily access them later. You can also keep track of your goals towards social justice learning and activism.

Inspiration

There has been lots of social uprisings and change within the past years, and we recognized that there are people, similar to Azami's persona in the Creative Brief, who are also part of this narrative. We believe we all play a role in shaping the future, and we know it can be difficult or intimidating breaking into the current social activism atmosphere. Plus, it can be difficult to be consistently engaged. This is an idea to help people in their 30s-40s to be more socially active and stay consistent with it.

What it does

activeallies is a web platform that helps adults to understand social justice causes and encourages goal-driven social activism by breaking it down into two categories: learning and taking action.

How We built it

We built it using Figma

Challenges We ran into

We ran into the challenge of being in different timezones. Being in different timezones can make it difficult to coordinate and work together. We also did not have enough time to do direct user research, so most of our designs are based on articles, statistics, and former studies we found online.

Accomplishments that We're proud of

We are proud that we came up with a platform for people in their 30s-40s.

What We learned

We learned how to design for people in their 30s-40s and how to prototype.
