Inspiration

Adblockers are ruining our experience of the struggle to get ads that we need.

What it does

AdBlock Minus reintroduces ads to websites that usually do not have ads or are blocked by your adblocker. From header ads and popup ads to even sidebar ads, this extension extracts the essence of advertisement into this Chrome extension.

How we built it

This extension was built using JavaScript, HTML, and sheer willpower to get through the 24 hours.

Challenges we ran into

We could not help but keep laughing when normal webpages that used to be ad-free from our pesky adblockers were now littered with ads. [Worst] of all, we had to watch the ErgoT*ne ad about a hundred times because we forgot we made the extension.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Webpages that used to be ad-free are now littered with ads. Success!

What we learned

A wise man once said, the real reward is not the destination, but the journey we take to get there, and the friends we made along the way.

What's next for AdBlock Minus

An enhancement that we can think of is to disable the option to turn off any advertisement. This ensures that you will always see every single beautiful advertisement we have in store for you.

We can also collaborate with premium services like YouTube Premium to ensure that people who have paid for the privilege of not seeing advertisements can still see advertisements on their screen.
