Introduction

Listening to NMTSA's needs. We understood that they needed more than just a beautiful website—they needed a sustainable solution that non-technical staff could confidently maintain for years to come. Rather than introducing complicated new systems, we chose to work with platform they already know: Wix. Recognizing that website modernization was their top priority, our team focused on redesigning their digital presence into a modern, user-focused platform that clearly communicates NMTSA's mission, services, and impact.

What it does

  • Visually refreshed experience - helps users quickly grasp NMTSA’s purpose and explore their programs with ease.
  • Simplified homepage Clear sections guide visitors to what matters most: "Who We Are," "Our Programs," "Events," and "Get Involved," eliminating confusion and driving action. Improved navigation and layout consistency, making it easy to move between pages.
  • Consistent, intuitive navigation – Improved layout consistency across all pages makes exploration effortless, ensuring visitors never feel lost.

How we built it

Platform

  • Wix Studio as our primary design platform for its visual flexibility, drag-and-drop design and layout creation -Wix Chatbot- Implement an intelligent chatbot system that answers user inquiries for any user
  • Wix Database – to organize program and event content dynamically

Design Approach

  1. Homepage restructuring – Created clear, intuitive sections: "Who We Are," "Our Programs," and "Get Involved," prioritizing the information users need most
  2. Information architecture – Every element was strategically placed to guide visitors naturally through their journey
  3. Brand alignment – Selected and customized a theme that harmonizes with NMTSA's existing logo and visual identity

Challenges we ran into

  1. Balancing aesthetic updates with content preservation, we wanted to modernize without altering NMTSA’s voice.
  2. Ensuring accessibility and clarity across layouts for a wide range of users.
  3. Coordinating design decisions with teammatewhile keeping the look consistent across all pages.

Accomplishments

  1. Successfully redesigned the website into a modern, user-focused platform that clearly communicates NMTSA’s mission, services, and impact.
  2. It now makes it immediately clear who NMTSA is, what they offer, and how to get involved - all while being easy for non-technical staff to maintain.

What we learned

  • Approach web design as communication to user
  • Gained hands-on experience with Wix Studio’s database system
  • Discovered how even small changes such as spacing, alignment, visual hierarchy which can make a site more inclusive and emotionally resonant.

What’s next for Aidify

Enhanced Database Infrastructure-Migrate to a robust external database hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and fully integrate it with the Wix site using database adapters. Auto Event Reminder -Notify user upcoming event
