Inspiration

Our team’s inspiration was formed from the older immigrant people we have come across in our lives who have not been able to communicate with English speakers because of the language barrier. These people are also not able to communicate with doctors, or even leave their houses because they cannot call a ride. Translation apps are usually very hard to use and are not able to detect certain dialects or accents.

What it does

The app helps you connect to emergency services, gives information on everyday medicine, finances, and nutrition, assists with booking transportation, and provides a personal assistant that helps with everyday tasks and emotional well-being while also correctly translating in almost any language instead of having to use Google Translate.

How we built it

We built the app using the Bubble.io website and made specific categories to fit the needs of our users, implemented button designs, and connected to different pages that delve into each category.

Challenges we ran into

The Bubble website was difficult to navigate and not user-friendly, so it took our team a while to become adept at using the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We had many moments that we were proud of such as creating a back button for our app so that it is easier to toggle between the home page and specific pages. We also linked many articles and third-party apps like official medical websites and Google Maps that would be very helpful to users. We formatted the app so that it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye - especially for people with bad eyesight.

What we learned

We learned how to use the website bubble to create an app, how to make a home page and connected pages, and how to add different APIs such as a translator.

What's next for AIFA Hackathon

We plan on adding more professional financial advisors, a better money-management system, and using AI to connect with doctors who speak their language so that they can pre-diagnose illnesses.
