Inspiration

Our team is interested in learning about sustainability and we wanted to design a practical tool where users are able to view the current AQI and compare it across the world.

What it does

Given an address, the application determines the 5 nearest locations with the highest AQI levels within a 30-mile radius of the address.

How we built it

Our team used Vue as our framework and Python as our backend.

Challenges we ran into

We spent the most time implementing the backend which we were unable to connect to the front end. With more time, we would be able to show the direct results on the application rather than the Terminal.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of learning to use frameworks that we were not familiar with it. Also, we are proud of being able to make a google map appear on our application.

What's next for Air Bear

Down the road, we are hoping to fully implement the site so that users are able to view the current AQI with a map that has shade levels indicating the severity of the given AQI.
