Aistrology

Inspiration

We were inspired mainly by Buzzfeed's personality quiz, and we wanted to see if we could use more open-ended prompts powered by Openai's api.

Aistrology is a personality quiz which takes your personality traits and outputs your personality based on what you provided.

We built it using Typescript/React/Vite/TailwindCSS for the front end; javascript and open ai's API for the backend.

Our main challenges were centering divs and selecting the correct elements in CSS.

Finishing on time and having a working website that looks okay.

We learned how to work on both front-end and back-end simultaneously, and then integrated them together at the end.

Perhaps make the questions show up one at a time in a carousel style.

I mainly worked on the front-end, working on the logic of getting a random subset of the 10 questions from the 30 questions that were in the pool. I also helped with html formatting, tailwindcss centering, implementing the favicon and other front-end tasks.

Timfon Fong
I worked on the back-end, parsing the requests sent from the front-end. In addition, I assisted with the design and a small amount of front-end.

mrehmet Rehmet
I worked on the front-end, designing the layout of the application, the input form system, as well as the data-structure that was to be parsed and sent to the backend. I also worked on engineering the prompt to achieve the best possible response.

Max Guo
I mainly worked on the backend, parsing API requests from the frontend and sending requests to OpenAI APIs that we are using in this project. I also helped with frontend element animation, debugging, and testing
