Inspiration
Most of the members of our group haven't done a datathon before, and we wanted to "dip our toes" into data science, so the beginner challenge was a great choice for us.
What it does
Our team used the number of mammogram facilities in each state and the breast cancer death rate of each state to create a death rate-to-facility ratio. The higher the ratio, the more "underserved" a community was, so the states with higher ratios needed the funding more than states with lower ratios.
How we built it
We used Jupyter Notebooks and Pandas to process the raw data and make our calculations.
What we learned
We learned how to cleanse, sort, and analyze data using Pandas and draw conclusions from our analysis!
