Inspiration
A certain financial hardship that single parents face is not being able to save enough money and acquiring lots of debt, in fact SNAP benefits help take the burden of food cost off of single parents by giving them one less expense to worry about. Although this program is helpful to many, some single parents aren't able to reap the benefits of SNAP and other governmental assistance programs because the application process may be confusing and/or complicated. We decided to create a mobile application that puts the applications for these government assistance programs in one place with a simple, effective, and convenient user interface that allows single parents and anyone else to easily navigate the application process. This in turn allows for more allocations of resources and less financial burden on single parents. A mobile app also eliminates the administrative barriers that may come with regularly filling out an application. Because if they did not have access to a computer, they would have to go to a library and fill out an application taking time out of their day, and time is money.

How we built it
We made a high-fidelity prototype on Figma which features all of our desired functionalities for the initial launch.
Additionally, we decided to use the react framework for the front end and Express for the back end. This hackathon was a trial run for learning some new technical methods, and I look forward to further developing the code at a later time.
Challenges we ran into
Identifying what information is required for the SNAP application, and also identifying administrative barriers that were necessary to include
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The prototype
What we learned
The government makes it extremely difficult for those in need to find assistance.
What's next for AllOne Aid
Creating a version for every state. If an individual were to move from one state to another, they can use the same login.
