Alpha Monkeys

Alpha monkeys are NFTs made by two students who are willingly to implement some real-life issues into NFT-form with pixel art themed that will be spread around the Uniq marketplace.

Issues

In our country, Indonesia, there are still a lot of monkeys that are not getting taken care of, some are getting abused and are forced to become circus animals. There are also endangered monkeys that are being hunted for sale.

Goals

Our goal is to provide our community with some of the highest quality pixelated NFTs available on the Ultra Blockchain. We are committed to saving monkeys that are not getting taken care of also the endangered ones and fighting animal abuse. We're also going to spread awareness about taking good care of monkeys, while teaching our community about the type of monkeys that must be protected.

We will drive long-term value to our NFT holders over a period of years and we are excited to start making a real difference as a community in this world.

Art Inspiration

Alpha Monkeys art style is inspired by two projects whose names are very big in the NFT world. The first one is "Bored Ape Yacht Club", which is an art style with a half-body monkey that is decorated with many accessories such as hats, clothes, necklaces, etc. We don't using apes to be our objects, we use monkeys instead. The reason is because in Indonesia, monkey's population is more dominant than ape's. The second one is "Cryptopunk". This art has pixel art style that becomes our inspiration and also model for us to determine the art style in Alpha Monkeys. Surely modern art styles, such as 3D arts, are very clearly visible in every details, however, this pixel art makes the art itself very exclusive, because the artist pays great attention to every details of the pixel blocks in terms of angles and colors.

Art

We chose pixel art as the style of our NFT with a block value of 64x64, then on some layers we added digital art as an effect. Each NFT has 4 layers, i.e. Background, Body, Clothing, and Head Accessories, each with their own uniqueness. The total number of Alpha Monkeys is currently 2908, this number is taken from the launch date of the Uniq Marketplace, which is August 29th. Every art on a layer has its rarity level, here is the rarity table:

How we built it

We create art for each layer by using Photoshop, then we generate the Uniq art by using the hashlips_art_generator open source program.
