Inspiration

One of our members tried to find a company. Being a law-abiding citizen, he made a business application. But this is Germany, so he completed the application way over schedule, confused and full of painful memories. This has to be changed, we thought.

What it does

We offer a webpage platform that walks you through the process of finding a business in Germany according to current law. The website includes a specifically trained chatbot that walks you through the notoriously complicated multi-page application so that you avoid accidental mistakes that delay the process.

How we built it

We build a React webpage with a Django backend and a Figma website design. For the demo chatbot, we used ChatGPT.

Challenges we ran into

Unfortunately, about half of our team members could not stay for the whole Hackathon. Also, German law is just as complicated for programmers as imagined. Finding a simple streamlined process to start a business was also challenging, if not even impossible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We really like our concept and believe it could avoid the traumatization of countless prospective German founders.

What we learned

Planning an app like this can take a lot of time. Also, when team members have to leave for a while, extra time is needed for them to catch up on new developments.

What's next for AntragPlus

We will refine the processes and connect them more to the other processes that a successful business application requires and the processes that are a must once it is completed. Furthermore, we want to make it flexible to adapt to different government services so that users can use one platform to access and use all public services.
