Inspiration
The traditional web 2.0 social media platforms are highly centralized and violate user privacy. We decided to build a robust, censorship-resistant social media network on a low-cost blockchain platform.
Anything Digital enables the users to generate an NFT social media profile and create content represented as NFTs. Therefore, the users are always in control of their profiles on Anything Digital
What it does
The existing prototype enables the users to:
- Create an NFT social media profile
- Create NFT posts.
- Earn incentives as content-creators.
- Rent out advertisement space on the wall.
How we built it
This project is built using censorship-resistant technologies including:
- Algorand Blockchain
- InterPlanetary File System
- Twilio for mobile authentication
- MongoDB Atlas for storing data related to posts on social media
Challenges we ran into
We were exposed to Twilio and MongoDB Atlas for the first time, so integrating these services into our project was a challenge. We were able to overcome these challenges with online resources and through assistance from the hackathon organizers.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We put together a social media application that runs on censorship-resistant infrastructure in a matter of 24 hours. Although we consider this to be only 20% of the MVP, integrating the technologies is something we are tremendously proud of.
What we learned
The most important learning outcome from this hackathon is the collaborative efforts and teamwork that made this progress possible.
We are extremely delighted to also learn integrating MongoDB Atlas and Twilio technologies into our project.
What's next for Anything Digital
We consider the project to be 20% of the MVP stage. We will work on fixing bugs and adding new features as go.
