Inspiration

Bloon's Tower Defense was the inspiration of the project. The different elements of the immune systems would act as the different tower defenses. The balloon in this case would be the antigen that is invading and causing harm to the different body cells.

What it does

There are 4 different immune system cells that serve 4 different purposes. The macrophage is supposed to act as a sponge for the antigens. The neutrophils are supposed to release their enzymes to affect antigens and to remove them. The dendritic cells are supposed to be able to relay and support macrophages and neutrophils to make them more effective. The memory B cells contribute to permanent adaptive immunity by producing antibodies while also improving the immune system's efficacy. The antigens are supposed to overflow and overload the array of defenses allowing them to use the damaged cells as reservoirs.

How we built it

We built it with using C#, Visual Studio, and the Unity game engine for the game mechanics and motion visualization. In regards to visuals and concept art, DALLEE 3 and online media were used to take inspiration from and create visuals on iPadOs Procreate

Challenges we ran into

We ran into converting 3D images in DALLEE 3 into 2D images, we also ran into problems of trying to find the shortest and efficient way to reach the closest of many. We also ran into overall game balancing problems spawned by different order of weights used for the mechanics. And we ran into issues regarding game complexity due to the amount of time we had to develop.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud of the balanced economic system we ended up making. We are proud of how the art and motion. And we are very proud of how the complexity of the game is at the right level.

What we learned

We learned how to intro-convert 3D images into 2D images and we also learned how to properly implement 2D physics for games

What's next for Assault Antigen

Adding more levels and more "towers"
