Inspiration - I was inspired by the passing away of a very close family member. She was in a hospital for the last month of her life and didn't get to experience freedom at the moment of passing just closed walls. In a month, her 10 year old son only got to see his mother on her deathbed.

What it does - Its robot using android to connect to a virtual reality headset to show the person in the hospital what the robot outside is seeing

How I built it - This proof of concept of a robot with a virtual reality sort of feel to it has a plenthora of components Specifically, its an android robotics based system that uses Wi-Fi direct communication to talk to another android phone. It currently can live steam sensor data showing the possibility of adding motors. The android communication has allowed me to integrate several API's that arduino's couldn't implement. The virtual reality part is that the robot can stream video through to the oculus which is worn on the person in the hospital which is not working anymore because my computer hard restarted making me lose some of my work :(.

Challenges I ran into - This android system has no documentation what so ever and it was my first time playing with the virtual reality headset.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of - I made a working proof of concept

What I learned - How to work with VR and Android robots

What's next for Assistant - Getting VR working once again. Adding motors on to the robot,
