Meet Axi - an AI-powered engineering design advisor
Inspiration
Our involvement in the disabled community throughout our lives has driven us has sparked a strong commitment to develop a project that would directly assist the disabled community.
What it does
AssistTechAI is a platform that harnesses AI and 3D model rendering technologies to rapidly generate personalized 3D models of assistive devices through custom inputs. AssistTechAI also has a creative platform that enables individuals to design, prototype, and create custom solutions tailored to their unique needs. In addition, we also created Axi, an AI powered engineering design advisor that can guide users through their design process by providing personalized feedback and critiques.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to code the website from scratch, Shap-E to generate the 3D renders of the assistive devices from custom prompts, GPT-3.5 Turbo to make Axi, and an AI model from hugging face to generate the images of the assistive devices.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the way we were able to integrate 3 types of AI technology: text-to-text (Axi), text-to-image (hugging face AI model), text-to-3D (assistive device model generator)!!
What we learned
We learned how to implement multiple APIs on one web page as well as how to make it so that Axi would receive information from the users canvas and give advice and feedback on their design!!
What's next for AssistTechAI
There are 1.3 billion people in the world that are disabled according to the World Health Organization. We believe that AssistTechAI has a big potential in making a positive impact on these people and make their lives easier. Through already functional, future steps for AssistTechAI may include partnering with assistive device companies or 3D printing companies to bring this technology to disabled people.
