Inspiration

Signing up for things online should be simple… but somehow it never is. We were inspired by the universal frustration of creating an account especially endless password rules and impossible captchas.

What it does

AstroPain Signup is a deliberately frustrating signup form. It has annoying CAPTCHAs, mini-events and extreme password requirements. Despite being super frustrating, it has a nice space themed UI and UX.

We have multiple mini-events that occur during the signup process:

• Timer: 30secs to complete the form (pressing enter gives more time)
• Red light / Green light: you can only move on green light
• Inverted mouse: pretty straightforward

If timer runs out or you move during red light, the website refreshers and your progress is lost.

We also have 3 different CAPTCHAs:

• Maths problem: complex maths with a really helpful calculator!!!!!!
• Draw Circle: Draw a circle with 65% accuracy
• SMILEEEEE: Smile at the camera for a few seconds
