Attendance Simplifier

Inspiration

Since last year everything started online and so classes too. And the major problem for teachers is to take attendance which is again hectic work so I made it easy by creating a WebApp.

What it does

Basically it does that it will run in background and start running and teacher will ask students to turn on their camera and It'll will capture all the faces and mark their attendance in Excel Sheet. And it can only accessed by teacher and she/he only have to install it.

How we built it

I made WebApp using Django and for UI I used HTML and CSS and in backend using the Face recognition model which uses Dlib for recognition.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges I faced during this was that I don't wanna use webcam for recognition i just wanna record it first and then wanna use it for face recognition. And after so many tries i did it and also I faced many challenges while working with Django like authentication, server connection, database handling .

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Finally I made something which can ease work of many teachers and they can use it easily with the help of simple UI

What we learned

Learned that one should not stop trying until he gets his goal done. And also learned a lot through this project.

What's next for Attendance Simplifier

I'll just try to make it more efficient and usable and make it more fast
