Our innovative solution empowers individuals with disabilities by automating text-to-speech like never before. With Augma, we've reimagined inclusivity for a digital age, making any text accessible in an instant.

Whether you have a learning disability, are visually impaired, or just looking for a convenient way to consume written content, our AI-driven app ensures everyone can access information independently.

How we built it

We developed our application using Dart with the Flutter framework. We wrote an API in Python using the Flask web development framework to create an endpoint which takes images from the application as an input. Google Cloud's Vision AI API is then used to get OCR (Optical Character Recognition) data of the image as plaintext, which is then uploaded to Firebase as an object, paired with the original image and date.

We believe our app has the capability to make a difference in the lives of many people throughout the world, and with the touch of a smartphone, make the world a more accessible place.

What's next for Augma

To scale the project, we would seek to make a commercially viable product without requiring a smartphone, and scale that production thus maximizing our impact.
