Inspiration
Healthcare is a crucial aspect of society, however, despite its importance in every citizen, there is a clear lack and overlook of its value. Unsafe healthcare leads to the result of millions of individuals each year which inspires us to make our project dedicated to reducing such preventable healthcare related deaths.
What it does
Our app intertwines the communication of patients, nurses, doctors, and admin into a singular platform that swiftly delivers real-time, crucial information. This information varies upon whether the user is a patient, a medic, or part of the admin. As a patient, you have access to a live chatbot that can inform you of updated, quick medical information, securely take a photo in order to detect any skin diseases / other physical abnormities, and check your posture. As a nurse, the app will detect any sporadic movement from the patient which allows more efficient use of time from hospital staff. As an admin, the app will give them access to all login information which allows them to overview the platform as a whole.
How we built it
We started with the login page and built off from that. Building another page where the patient to sign up for our service and building dashboards for each of our user categories. Afterwards, we split up the work to have everyone work on different functions for the different users. Finishing off with touching up the UI.
Challenges we ran into
Merge Conflicts, Handling multiple real-time tasks at once, and making the UI aligned with each other and having pleasant color scheme and font.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our chat bot and how we manage multiple real-time task using threads.
What we learned
We learn how to use threads and the mySQL database.
What's next for A.U.R.A
A.U.R.A can either go of two different paths: research or released to the public. If gone to further research, it may be used as a prototype/blueprint for future apps/systems that wish to improve medicare through efficient communication and prevent senseless damage. Key features within our app will be seen in the future of technological medicine. If released to the public for utliization, we will see immense cost reduction within hospitals as the reduction of time and energy wasted from patients, nurses, and admins as a whole will, in turn, save money. Also, a reduction in delays due to this real time update for all users will allow for faster, smarter descion making actions thus providing a safer and secure quality of life within healthcare, the main purpose of the app.
