A conceptual MVP for the Syrotech MVP Hackathon 2025. Axilo is a social platform designed as a sanctuary from the noise of performative social media, creating a space for authentic connection, small successes, and the celebration of the creative process.

💡 The Problem: The Cacophony of Connection

Modern social media platforms are optimized for engagement at any cost. This has led to an environment defined by:

  • Performance Anxiety: Users feel pressured to post only polished, final achievements, hiding the valuable journey of creation and learning.
  • Algorithmic Burnout: Endless, low-signal feeds create mental fatigue and devalue deep, meaningful content.
  • Superficial Metrics: "Likes" and "Follows" have become the primary measure of worth, discouraging vulnerability and authentic expression.
  • A Lack of Quiet Spaces: There are few places online dedicated to introspection, celebrating small wins, and finding genuine resonance with others on a similar wavelength.

This digital cacophony negatively impacts mental health and stifles the very creativity it claims to foster.

✨ The Solution: Axilo, The Fulcrum of Authenticity

Axilo is a social platform built on a simple, powerful philosophy. The name itself is a fusion of three concepts:

  • Axiom: The core, self-evident truth within each individual.
  • Lilt: The unique, gentle rhythm or melody of one's personality and expression.
  • Fulcrum: The stable point on which we can pivot from performative noise to authentic signal.

Axilo is designed to be this fulcrum. It's a space that encourages sharing not just the final product, but the beautiful, messy process. It’s a community for creators, thinkers, and anyone yearning to connect on a deeper level, where your "axiom" can find its "lilt" in others.

This philosophy is baked directly into the UI through our Dual-Theme System:

  • 🟠 Hearth (Dark Mode): The Solo Journey The default orange theme represents the warm, focused glow of a hearth. It’s the color of introspection, your digital workshop where you can comfortably share personal progress, fleeting thoughts, and small victories. It’s a space for the inner world.

  • 🟣 Aether (Light Mode): The Duet of Connection The optional purple theme represents the mystical, connective aether. It’s designed for discovery and interaction, a space where boundaries soften and you can explore the thoughts of others, seeking that serendipitous spark of connection. It’s a space for the outer world.

🚀 Key Features

  • Poetic Onboarding: A gentle, non-judgmental personality alignment to set the tone for your journey.
  • The Feed (The Hearth): A calm, chronologically-ordered feed focused on "Sparks"—posts celebrating small wins, sharing progress, and posing thoughtful questions.
  • Resonance, Not Likes: Interact with posts by "Resonating," a more intentional action than a simple "like."
  • Dual-Theme Philosophy: Seamlessly switch between the introspective Hearth (Orange) and the connective Aether (Purple) modes.
  • Profile 'Constellations': User profiles that showcase an individual's core attributes and their constellation of "Sparks," painting a richer picture than a simple bio.
  • Focused Discovery: A user grid that encourages finding others based on their essence, not just their popularity.
  • Direct Messaging (The Duet): A clean, intimate chat interface for one-on-one conversations that matter.

🛠️ Tech Stack

This MVP was built with a focus on a clean, lightweight, and accessible foundation.

  • Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, Vanilla JavaScript (ES6)
  • Fonts: Google Fonts (VT323, Lora, Roboto Mono) for a distinct retro-yet-modern aesthetic.
  • Icons: Font Awesome for clean, scalable iconography.
  • Deployment: The application is fully static and can be hosted on any modern platform like Netlify, Vercel, or GitHub Pages.

🗺️ Roadmap & Future Vision

While this is a fully functional MVP, the vision for Axilo is much larger. Future steps include:

  • Full Backend Integration: Implementing a backend (e.g., Node.js with Express) and a database (e.g., PostgreSQL) to support real users, authentication, and persistent data.
  • Real-time Chat: Integrating WebSockets for an instantaneous and fluid messaging experience.
  • Collaborative "Sparks": Allowing users to co-author posts or projects.
  • Personalized Discovery: Developing a non-intrusive algorithm that suggests connections based on shared philosophies and creative interests, not just engagement metrics.
  • Accessibility Overhaul: Conducting a full accessibility audit (WCAG) to ensure Axilo is usable by everyone.
