Inspiration

I am inspired to learn, grow and innovate. Google cloud has provided a platform where one can test out his/her idea and l find it fascinating to be part of a global competition.

What it does

I created an agent named Barcelini that helps end user with queries that is related to improving the lifestyle of the user, major areas covered includes health and wellness. The agent focuses on getting relevant information for questions related to health/wellness for the end user.

Learnings

I learnt so much from this project. I am a newbie and this is my first time using the Vertex AI to build an Agent. I learnt a lot from the Agent Console Builder and l hope to learn more. I mostly worked on building different buckets in the cloud storage and l created different data tools to be able to fetch some form of data from the data store. I also learnt about generative AI and tried to implement it too.

I learnt how to create a Vertex AI Agent using the Agent Console Builder. I gave the Agent some goals to achieve when chatting with the user. I created some instructions and examples. Training the agent to behave a certain way was a challenge, I refined my examples, goals, instructions to be able train agent.

I learnt about the components of an agent in Vertex AI which includes Runtime(Reasoning Engine), Orchestration(LangChain), Tools (Function Calling) and Gemini. In conclusion, l am still learning and hope to grow and develop myself in this amazing technology.

Building The Project

To be honest, I was confused at the very beginning and l had no idea of what to do. I started off by watching the recommended videos in the resource section. I also checked out other google videos to gain more clarity and concepts. I clicked the Agent Builder link and navigated to the Google Cloud Agent Builder. Then I started using the interface to work and created an Agent.

I built a Lifestyle Agent that majors in Health/Wellness. I train as much as l can to work with the tools l created when communicating with users on matters related to health/wellness or improving lifestyle.

Challenges

Challenges includes knowing what is good data for the agent. Creating examples or training the agent. Creating tools for the agent knowing how to use the data tools to fetch information to the agent.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud to be able to finish the project on time as this is my first time using Vertex AI. I am also proud that the agent was able to output some information clearly. I am proud that l can build an agent and make it do stuffs. Being able to learn new things in technology. Professional Development.

What's next for Barcelini_bot

Well, I believe the sky is just the starting point. Agents can do a lot of amazing things and l would like to keep on developing and making Barcelini better. This can help people in a major way and can save cost and time.
