Inspiration
Plenty of people have lots of half finished alcohol containers in their bar. Others find it difficult to find new drinks, and there are no good discovery sources for new drinks.
What it does
After taking in your alcohol inventory, the user shakes their phone like a margarita shaker. Bartendr will then run through a list of over 5500 drinks and pick the most desirable ones for you to sample, based on your available beverages and preferences.
How I built it
We used Node.js on the back end with express to make a simple API. We deployed this to Heroku and used it for all of our API needs. The iOS application serves to expose the API to the public and allow users to discover tasty new drinks.
What's next for Bartendr
The iOS app needs to be redone, and most likely the API as well. iOS again in Swift, and the API in Go or Scala.
