How it works

Presented with an elegant and streamlined React.js frontend interface, the user is granted the option to initiate their trading experience by clicking the "start trading" button, which facilitates either login or signup procedures on the Barterly platform. Seamlessly integrated with our Flask-based backend, each user is presented with a uniquely customized profile dashboard, providing access to personalized information and features.

Upon navigating to the trading page, a curated list of top-recommended items is prominently displayed until the user enters specific keywords into the search bar, allowing for precise item discovery. Using a deep neural network and content-based filtering, we employ historical data-driven patterns, encompassing user ratings from previous transactions, item condition, item type, and geographical proximity to past transaction locations, to offer tailored item recommendations to users.

Upon completion of their trading journey, users can securely log out of the Barterly platform, eagerly anticipating the arrival of their awaited packages.
