Inspiration
We believe that high-quality learning opportunities should be universally accessible. In today’s rapidly changing world, there is a growing demand for creative thinkers who will solve our most challenging problems. The next generation of innovators is shaped by the accessibility of education today. However, good educational opportunities are out of reach for many children around the world. Therefore, we aim to create an inclusive community that will foster innovation, creativity, and play by building a platform to share and engage with different learning opportunities.
What it does
Basa creates an environment where parents, students, and educators can use, create, and share STEM projects for community use.
How we built it
We used the web application Webflow to create a demo site for this project that explores how a user may navigate this site. To experience this, a user would open the pages listed on the navbar, and then follow the course path "Courses," "Flying Machines," and then "Water Rocket." We also used applications like Photoshop and Illustrator to create a few child friendly graphics
Challenges we ran into
We ran into issues with learning a new application and the fact that you can't work simultaneously on the same website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were proud that we made interactive graphics that would be appealing to kids and created an easy to navigate website.
What we learned
We learned how to use Webflow to create an aesthetically appealing website and how to think about community needs in design.
What's next for Basa
In the future, we'd like to set up the entire website, and continue with our mission to increase accessibility to STEM education.
