Inspiration

Creating a new type of social media that can cater to not only geese, but younger geese especially. To protect them; for the children.

What it does

When the user types into the chat, instead of receiving heretical messages from strangers, wholesome fun facts about geese appear to read!

How we built it

Front-end built with React, with the scrapped backends built on Spring Boot with a MongoDB server for persistence.

Challenges we ran into

For the front-end, getting the design to reflect what we had in mind. For the back-end, not knowing what MongoDB was about, implementing a websocket system.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Having a somewhat working websocket server, as well as having a submittable at the end of the project.

What we learned

Working within a team, and discussing the skillset of the team ahead of the project. Not let feature creep seep into what we're doing.

What's next for BeakSpeak

Not much, unfortunately :(
