Inspiration

We've always shared a love for music, so we created a beat visualizer. Our inspiration was to connect music and visuals. In order to embrace the powerful influence on emotions, we aimed to turn sound into a visual experience. Our project is a fusion of art and tech, making music come to life in a whole new way.

What it does

By uploading an mp3 to Beat Visualizer, you can enjoy a visual interpretation of your favorite songs!

How we built it

We built this project utilizing the React and Expo frameworks. We also used Notion for planning and Figma for the initial design of the site

Challenges we ran into

We ran into many challenges with this project. To name a few, we couldn't switch pages, load the visualizer, or even just upload the mp3

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of being able to overcome the many technical issues we encountered along the way and being able to deliver our product

What we learned

We learned a lot over the course of this project, including more extensive use of Git/GitHub, React, and Expo. We also learned how important the planning stage is, as when we were able to finally set our plan in stone the entire project became much easier

  1. Integration with music streaming platforms (like Spotify)
  2. Favorites list
  3. Lyrics
  4. Adding more reactive elements (ex: the background will change color depending on the feel of the song)
