Inspiration
People don't quit therapy because it doesn't work, they quit because finding the right therapist is hard. Existing platforms present hundreds of therapists, hide costs, and are not helpful. For first-time therapy people, these choices are overloading.
What it does
BetterMatch helps you find the right therapist in minutes. Users complete a short 9 step questionnaire which includes their needs, preferences, and insurance. Our AI then analyzes therapists across multiple platforms and ranks them by compatibility.
How we built it
We aggregated therapist data across platforms, normalized it, then ran it through an LLM that weighs qualitative fit signals. The frontend focuses on clarity and confidence.
Challenges we ran into
Therapist data is fragmented, inconsistent, and often really vague, which makes meaningful comparison difficult. Insurance pricing is especially vague and varies by plan. Translating subjective "fit" into something easily explainable was also a major challenge.
