Inspiration
We found that making good sounding bios for Tinder, Bumble, and other platforms like it was tough. We needed a tool that could help us craft awesome sounding profile bios that help us put our best foot forward.
What it does
It evaluates the overall and individual sentiment and magnitude of each sentence and determines whether or not you're portraying yourself positively, negatively, or somewhere in between. From there, you can see what needs to be tweaked and the effects that these tweaks have.
How I built it
We used the Google Natural Language API to evaluate the text, and used PHP, HTML, CSS and Bootstrap to code the front end.
Challenges I ran into
Figuring out how to get GCloud up and running was a big hurdle, but after that it was mostly smooth sailing.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Having a working project at the end of a hackathon!
What I learned
Both of us learned how to use GCloud and also what goes into making a good bio for dating sites. Dorian learned Bootstrap for the first time, and I learned how to code in PHP for the second time in my life.
What's next for Bio-Graphy
We hope to include more of GCloud's API, so that we can provide more tools. One such idea is evaluating which pictures look the best using their Vision API.
