We were inspired by CAE's challenge to create a simulation of a cockpit. We decided to make something original, creative and light hearted.

Bird strike is an abstract flight simulator that trains future pilots and flight enthusiasts to watch out for incoming bird strikes as well as maintaining the multitude of tasks that a pilot would have on every flight.

To model the inside of the cockpit in two dimensions, our team used unity as the base for the project.

Our team struggled with the implementation of the various controls and settings that a pilot's cockpit would have. We also struggled with representing the perspective visually as we chose to make a two dimensional simulation.

A monumental moment was when our group member Yaro figured out how to implement turbulence in our simulator.

Our team learned that even an extremely detailed flight simulator can be built within less than 24 hours.
