Inspiration

All too often, our community's small businesses are going overlooked and underappreciated. Bizup encourages members to chase challenges put forth by businesses to earn rewards and find new favorites! Our tech stack features MongoDB, a Javascript backend, and a front-end developed using React.js. The biggest challenges for a majority of our members was learning a brand-new tech on the spot--almost all of us had never really touched React.js previously, much less built an entire web app! Most of our issues ended up being root-caused by our mishandling of the asynchronous nature of Javascript execution and syncing components with the front end. Not to mention many unfortunate hour(s) battling dependency issues.

That said, we are incredibly proud of our product, as we learned a lot in order to bring forward today's prototype. It highlights our vision for the application and shows a lot of places to refine and expand the features.
