Inspiration

  • Deciding on where to study or get food has been a confusing decision as all our friends have different schedules and the dining courts are crowded.

What it does

  • Let's you see how crowded a particular location on campus is.
  • Shows information on how many of your friends are currently at the place you are looking at and more details all in one app.

How we built it

- Used a python web server to send real-time updates on how many people are at a place over HTTP.

Challenges we ran into

  • Couldn't connect to the AWS SQL database.
  • Firebase authentication was challenging to implement.
  • Deciding on the optimal structures of tables to store user data.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Managed to create a working application within 24hrs while learning about many tools for the first time.

What we learned

We learned how to use various tools like bootstrap, firebase, etc to build and deploy a full-stack project.

What's next for Boiler Pack'd

  • Friend requests.
  • Real-time friends update using AWS RDS Database.
