Inspiration

The NFT marketplaces recently removed royalty fees on their platform which removed the passive income source for NFT collections. This eventually led to less benefits to the holders as the project owners also lost their motivation. We wanted to build a product that makes owning an NFT more rewarding.

What it does

Boom is a platform where brands can launch their campaigns and target a community of particular NFT collection to provide them benefits and increase their sales. One of the example of the campaigns is like AWS provides 1000$ credits if you are a BAYC holder, Get free Cristiano Ronaldo Nike Apparel if you are CR7 holder, etc.

How we built it

The platform is made in such a way that the user comes to the platform and connect their wallet and we detect what all NFT they hold. If their are campaign in for that particular NFT, we show those campaign to the user. We have made it in Next.js using MongoDB as database.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to get the data for NFTs for a particular wallet, one way was to scrape the blockchain but that was not feasible. We finally found Alchemy API that helped us out. We faced some issue while deploying as well but the team helped us in sorting them out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud about the fact that we already got a brand that wants to partner with us and run their campaign.

What we learned

We learned that there exist serious problem in the NFT domain where people are really striving for real utility. There is strong need of platform like Boom which are working towards bringing utility to the space. Also we found out during development that the API infrastructure in the blockchain spacing is just in making so sometime we get restricted during development as we are not able to find adequate API for our purpose.

What's next for Boom Fan

We plan to work on a social network which can contain not only the data of NFTs but of all tokens and is capable of creating a user persona based on the content of a particular wallet.
