Inspiration

We had never used the leap motion API nor the bose soundlink API and we wanted to build something cool with them.

What it does

Controls the music with leap motion gestures.

How I built it

By reading a lot of documentation. One of the hardest parts of the program was getting everything running and interfacing with each other. Also, most of us did not really sleep.

Challenges I ran into

The sensitivity of the hand motions, integrating the two components, and learning two completely new API's.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Incredibly happy to get it working and especially to get the sensitivity customized. Also we are very happy to actually build something in our first hackathon.

What I learned

Usually, we never work with or get the chance to work with API's and stay away from any kind of new hardware but this was an awesome learning experience that helped us learn about how to work with API's and how to actually build something.

What's next for BoseSoundtouchLeapMotionController

The program needs quite a lot of fine tuning and we would love to add more gesture commands and envision it to be an add-on to the Bose app running on the computers and provide Leap Motion integration.
